Quality Control Technician

Design Build and Construction Pensacola, Florida


ECC is seeking a Quality Control Technician in Pensacola, FL. Local candidates highly desired. This field position is primarily responsible for assisting in verifying compliance with quality requirements on construction and environmental projects as defined by Company standards and contractual obligations. ECC offers excellent benefits package to include 100% company paid employee medical/dental premiums, ESOP, 401K with match, wellness programs and much more. In this position you will:

  • Actively promote and support the quality control program with subcontractors and project team members on a daily basis
  • Assist in ensuring that work is performed in accordance with contract specifications, pertinent building codes & practices as well as national and local standards
  • Participate in delivering quality training for Company staff, subcontractors, and other required attendees to ensure achievement of exceptional quality standards
  • Ensure that the appropriate and required testing is completed
  • Support the evaluation, review, monitoring and documentation of testing results
  • Assist in inspecting and documenting the receipt of all materials to ensure compliance with contract documents
  • Participate in the preparation and review of material submittals
  • Complete daily quality related documentation (field reports, logs, and records), in a timely and accurate manner
  • Ensure that all documentation is retained and retrievable
  • Support the Three-Phase Control Process in accordance with Company standards and contract requirements
  • Engage with subcontractors, client representatives, and project team members to ensure that construction activities are completed according to design
  • Investigate and recommend solutions to resolve construction problems related to quality
  • Report quality and safety incidents to appropriate members of quality or project management
  • Communicate and document corrective actions
  • Verify implementation of corrective action, track and analyze corrective action, and close-out corrective action documentation upon acceptable completion
  • Initiate stop work or re-work in coordination with the project team when work methodologies nonconformance occurs
  • In addition to the accountabilities above, other responsibilities, tasks, and deliverables may be assigned to the incumbent of this position


This position requires the following:

  • The ability to communicate in written and oral formats with diplomacy and tact
  • An aptitude for exercising independent thinking and reasoning
  • Knowledge in accurately reading and comprehending construction plans and related technical documents
  • Skilled in analyzing and summarizing data for reporting to management
  • Working knowledge of building codes and phases of construction
  • Competent in using Microsoft Office products, email systems, and Windows
  • Internship experience directly related to construction or quality control
  • Education - A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Occupational Safety and Health or related field is required. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for this requirement.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with proper set up of quality control testing equipment
  • Broad understanding of contract compliance in government construction or environmental projects
  • Familiarity with workplace health and safety concepts
