Weston is seeking a Senior Lead Project Engineer to manage and provide design services for engineering projects primarily being executed out of the West Chester, PA office involving industrial wastewater management, conveyance, and industrial facility operations.  The project engineer is responsible for executing projects within their technical expertise and building teams of internal technical staff and sub-consultants to execute work within scope, schedule, and budget, while maintaining safety, quality, and risk management processes.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, chemical, civil/environmental (with treatment design and operations courses) with 10 to 15 years engineering experience.
  • Professional Engineers (P.E.) license preferred or ability to achieve PE within 1 -2 years of hire.
  • Active NCEES account with ability to gain additional state licenses through reciprocity or the ability to obtain license within one year is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills, including ability to convey technical presentations and participate in client meetings.
  • Ability to align and lead engineering disciplines (including designers and CADD specialists).
  • Experience with unit operations and facility infrastructure at operating industrial plants. 
  • Ability to guide the integration of operability, maintainability, constructability, and safety related aspects in design.
  • Ability to forward-think and identify critical information needs for design in a timely manner and work with the PM to acquire such information from the client or other sources.
  • Ability to understand and integrate regulatory considerations into the project design and overall project schedule.
  • OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER and CPR/First Aid Training preferred. OSHA 30 Hour Construction Certification a plus.

Responsibilities:

  • Ability to take the technical lead on design projects for wastewater, industrial operations infrastructure, and facility modification including stormwater management, environmental, and construction permitting processes.
  • Ability to lead engineering team to meet scope, schedule, budget, quality, and safety requirements.
  • Knowledge and ability to perform best management practices for infrastructure sizing calculations.
  • Demonstrated experience sizing conveyance and treatment equipment including hydraulic calculations.
  • Experience in creating construction documents for treatment process, mechanical, electrical, civil, instrumentation and control, systems integration, civil and structural related designs.
  • Able to complete requests for proposals (RFP), develop scopes of work, obtain vendor quotes, and evaluate bids for construction work.
  • Experience with engineering services during construction including field construction oversite, shop drawing reviews, submittal management, and schedule tracking.
  • Ability to identify wastewater sampling and analytical work to develop project needed data.
  • Diligent and timely compliance with and implementation of company business practices including adherence with the Engineering Design Quality Management Manual.
  • Regular participation in local professional societies and associations for networking.
  • Execution of all work professionally, safely, and ethically according to company values and client contracts.
  • Maintains a valid driver’s license and can travel.
  • Willing to travel (~30% of the work year), and most travel is typically within the Philadelphia-metro area while spending 30% of your time in the office collaborating with your teams.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software.

Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors.

 

 

Salary Range: $96,500 - $128,900 - $161,000
