Weston is seeking a strategic Client Account Director/ Regional Leader for our Commercial, State and Local (CSL) business in Texas. This role is a key part of Weston’s overall growth strategy to diversify our market presence and offerings to our clients. This senior leader will set a statewide market strategy, deepen priority client relationships, build a durable opportunity pipeline, strengthen regional delivery capacity, and connect Weston’s technical capabilities to the needs of Texas clients and communities.

Expected Outcomes:  

Provide overall leadership in developing and implementing a clear, actionable strategy for expansion of Weston’s CSL business in Texas.  This includes maintaining long-term client relationships, building sales pipeline, partnering with operations to ensure high-quality project delivery, and to grow the capacity of the required teams to deliver exceptional value to our clients in a variety of environmental and infrastructure technical areas.  Weston’s existing capacity in Texas includes 5 offices, and approximately 95 employees serving a wide variety of clients.

 

Build a sustainable regional portfolio of contracts and relationships with Public and Private Clients:

  • Develop and present an overall vision of expansion of services to CSL clients based in Texas
  • Collaborate with leadership to develop strategies and tactics associated with the Texas-based expansion
  • Lead the development and execution of strategic account plans for priority Texas clients, with emphasis on retention, expansion, cross-selling, and measurable client value. Collaborate with leadership to support the development of regional delivery teams.
  • Build and maintain a qualified pipeline; establish pursuit priorities; and lead capture, teaming, positioning, and proposal strategies for high-value opportunities.
  • Identify and attend targeted associations, conferences, and networking events to expand the company’s presence.
  • Stay informed about legislative changes, funding opportunities, and competitive landscape.
  • Successfully pursue new contracts with existing and new clients, diversify the offers we are providing.
  • Support, as appropriate, the continued development of existing client relationships including developing and participating in account plans, reviews, and ongoing client evaluation including go/no decisions.
  • Mentor Project Managers and Seller/Doers 

 

Drive development and growth:

  • Must excel in developing business growth strategies, be highly motivated, a self-starter, and drive results.
  • Lead internal and external messaging.
  • Assist in staff recruiting, balancing staff between offices, and mentoring of project managers and seller/doers.
  • Maintain flexibility in a continuously changing and fast-paced environment.
  • Translate highly technical information so that non-technical decision makers can understand risks and opportunities related to sustainability projects and Weston’s offering. 

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Bachelor's Degree in sustainability, environmental science, engineering, planning or related technical field. Master's Degree preferred.
  • 15+ years' experience with Texas-based clients, in a strategic business development leadership position.
  • A broad understanding of the current and emerging environmental and infrastructure needs of those clients.
  • Highly collaborative and willing and able to work with many stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills; and the ability to clearly and effectively present complex information to all levels of employee-owners, clients, and community leaders.
  • Growth mindset with 5+ years of demonstrated success in business development and proposal development to municipal and state agencies.

Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors.

Salary Range: $141,038 - $186,935 - $232,937
