Position Overview

WebMD Health Editors manage the development and quality control of digital health and medical content for consumer audiences. The Health Editor works with writers, content strategists, medical review, and other digital publishing stakeholders by managing deadlines and exercising critical editorial judgment to ensure we deliver clear, accurate, and actionable information to our users. Candidates should be creative, independent editors with strong communication and critical thinking skills, the ability to prioritize tasks in a deadline-driven environment, and the ability to work effectively with teams in a virtual work environment.


Responsibilities:

  • Editing high-quality, engaging, and medically accurate content
  • Updating and optimizing existing content
  • Managing the editorial workflow from start to finish
  • Matching assignments to freelance and staff writers
  • Managing multiple projects while meeting tight deadlines
  • Ensuring all content is easy to understand, evidence-based, engaging, actionable, and inclusive
  • Collaborating with other teams to develop, publish, and optimize content efficiently

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years’ experience creating digital health and medical content for a consumer audience
  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or a related discipline
