This role is designed to bring Amazon/e-retailer media expertise into the ecommerce group.  The role will drive media excellence across relevant channels, along with integration across Colgate, Tom’s of Maine, and the Canadian business, leaning on the respective Colgate and agency partners to achieve progress.


You will be co-located with the Colgate and agency ecommerce team at the Colgate offices, and be expected to be part of the agency media leadership team.  You will take the lead in defining ecommerce media plans across channels, foster an understanding of ecommerce priorities across the broader agency media teams, and work to support these priorities in a way that maximizes Colgate’s overall media investment through a holistic view of the business.

This role is focused on Amazon, as well as e-retailers such as Walmart Media Group, Target/Roundel, and others.   In this role, you will be responsible for developing ecommerce and retail media plans in this area, as well as planning, campaign optimization and identification of new opportunities.

Manage and develop ecommerce media team member(s), who are focused primarily on execution, but will also need to understand strategic priorities and objectives. 

Collaborate with teams operating across all Amazon/e-retailer businesses, including ecommerce Strategy, Shopper Marketing, ecommerce Search, and Amazon DSP, which is managed by the agency programmatic team using a self-service model.

Drive media innovation opportunities and forward-looking strategies (e.g., leaning in on Voice, test and learn opportunities), working closely with practice leaders at Wavemaker/GroupM to bring the best thinking in these new areas to Colgate.


This position reports directly to the Red Fuse NA Media lead. Also, this position will have a subject expertise reporting line into Wavemaker’s Ecommerce/Platforms practice leadership.


The candidate will need to act as the subject matter expert on Amazon Retail/e-retailer media across all its functions, and specifically the consumer-facing element of ecommerce. The core deliverables are strategic consulting and accountability for media execution, within the parameters provided by Colgate ecommerce and shopper teams – recognizing there may be different objectives for media that are tied to Colgate retailer commitments.  Specific requirements for this position include:

  • A minimum of 5 years of progressively senior experience in e-commerce, programmatic, ad operations and/or biddable media on the sales, agency or ad tech side
  • Demonstrates passion and excitement for craft; will have a point of view and voice it
  • Demonstrates ‘agile and innovative’ capabilities by moving rapidly and bringing new thinking
  • Deep understanding of Amazon Advertising, including Amazon DSP
  • Deep understanding of paid media, including brand safety, ad serving, campaign management, reporting etc. Deep expertise in DSP management and execution a must.
  • Collaborative work style that supports relevant discipline expertise within the agency (e.g., ecommerce Search and Programmatic), while elevating overall output from all agency ecommerce media teams
  • Experience working with Affiliate strategies, integrating with National Paid Social & Influencer Media a plus
