About the role: 

The Manager of Commerce Strategy will oversee award-winning commerce media solutions across one of Wavemaker’s largest CPG/FMCG clients. 

This role requires a foundational understanding of the capabilities of commerce platforms, including retail media networks, ad tech partners & data suppliers, enabling the contribution in solving complex business problems through simplified POVs to unlock new growth opportunities across channels for clients.

Reporting to the US Director of Commerce and as a contributing member of the Wavemaker Commerce Practice, you will work closely with retail partners and support highly dynamic cross-functional project teams across multiple client accounts. This role will have the opportunity to infuse the best of our agency capabilities into our client's day-to-day deliverables.

 Your Impact:

  • Support US Commerce Director in partnering with cross-functional client teams to understand brand and retailer growth objectives and translate these priorities into actionable retail media strategies.
  • Aid agency cross-functional teams, including investment, search, social, programmatic, data, and analytics, to deliver comprehensive solutions that accomplish client's business objectives
  • Assist in planning retail media programs utilizing appropriate tactics that unlock omnichannel conversion and growth. 
  • Be bilingual in media and relevancy within the evolving retail media ecosystem
  • Reinforce retail media best practices, including performance, transparency, efficiency, and brand safety guidelines.
  • Partake in formulating objective-based KPIs, understanding closed-loop measurement, and syndicated 3rd party research.
  • Supervise relationships to ensure the development & delivery of best-in-class solutions.
  • Participate in thought leadership by staying abreast of the latest trends and best practices in retail & commerce media, distributing POVs on changing industry dynamics.
  • Engage with and assist internal and external leaders across WPP agencies, technology providers, and retailers. 

Your Qualifications:

  •  3-5+ years of experience in media, preferably at an advertising agency; experience in retail media, shopper marketing, and/or performance media is a plus
  • Working knowledge of retail media landscape, US retailers, advertising partners, advertising technology partners, and industry trends in commerce media including Amazon, Walmart, Target, Kroger, Instacart, and more  
  • Ability to implement effective media plans that achieve business objectives
  • Drive to learn and understand the retail landscape and the latest trends in commerce media
  • Basic knowledge of measurement capabilities, Excel and media math, and media channels (e.g., programmatic, search, social)
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex ideas
  • Ability to collaborate and work effectively with internal teams and external partners
  • Basic analytical skills, with the ability to analyze data and assist in developing insights that inform strategy and optimization
  • Problem solver and strategic thinker with the ability to identify improvement opportunities
  • Highly collaborative, excited to be a part of a mature team that continues to expand and positively redefine our commerce solutions

The base salary for this position at the time of this posting may range from $60,000 to $140,000. Individual compensation varies based on job-related factors, including business needs, experience, level of responsibility and qualifications.
