Summary of Duties: Provide primary diabetes education/counseling and assessments for patients and family members in group and individual settings using a multi-disciplinary approach. Develop and conduct educational programs for staff and community.  May be assigned other duties as required. 

Educational Requirements: BSN, graduate of a state accredited school of nursing required.

Licensure/Certification Requirements: Current California RN license.  Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) or certification in progress.  

Experience Requirements: Three or more years of acute hospital experience.Three years teaching experience desired. 

Special Skills or Abilities: Excellent teaching, communication, and writing abilities required. Ability to prepare oral and written reports. Computer literate; proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint preferred.
