We are seeking a Director, Demand Generation & Events to join our team and help us achieve our ambitious goals for our business and the planet.
What you get to do:
The Director of Demand Generation will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive demand generation strategies to drive awareness, engagement, pipeline growth and, ultimately, sales conversions. This individual will lead a team of marketing professionals to plan, execute, and optimize multi-channel campaigns that generate qualified leads and support revenue growth objectives. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in demand generation, including ABM, paid media, email marketing, and events strategy and execution. They will also have a deep understanding of marketing automation and analytics tools, and the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.
What you will contribute: 
  • Develop and implement demand generation strategies and tactical marketing plans that incorporate business strategy, product direction and market position and pipeline growth, establish market leadership, and increase brand awareness and engagement.
  • Lead and manage a team of demand generation & event marketers, set and track near and long-term goals, and provide guidance, mentorship, and support to drive performance and achieve targets. 
  • Oversee the creation and execution of integrated solutions- and account-based marketing plans across various channels including email marketing, paid media, social media, webinars, content marketing, industry trade events and more. 
  • Own the industry event strategy, including a mix of Uplight-owned client events and an annual calendar of industry event sponsorships, exhibitions, speaking slots and on-site celebrations. 
  • Collaborate with the Sales, Market Development, Industry Solutions and Product Marketing Teams to understand target audiences, buyer personas and market trends to inform demand generation strategies and tactics.  
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on the performance and ROI of demand generation campaigns, utilizing data-driven insights to optimize and improve results.
  • Implement marketing automation tools and processes to streamline lead generation, nurture, scoring and conversion tracking. 
  • Manage the demand generation budget effectively, allocating resources strategically to maximize ROI.
  • Stay current with emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in demand generation and marketing automation, and make recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment and integration of demand generation efforts with overall marketing and business objectives.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and tradeshows as a thought leader and brand ambassador.


What you bring to Uplight: 
  • 10 years of experience in marketing with a focus on demand generation and events, preferably in the energy or climate space.
  • Proven track record of successfully developing and executing integrated demand generation strategies that drive measurable results.
  • Proven experience in managing and optimizing a marketing budget. 
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing and developing high-performing teams.
  • Expertise in marketing automation platforms (e.g., Pardot, HubSpot, Marketo) and CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce).
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to leverage data and metrics to make informed decisions and optimize campaign performance.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex concepts clearly and persuasively.
  • Bias for action and growth mindset. 
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Salary Range: $150,000 to $180,000 
In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the approximate annual base compensation range is listed above. The actual offer, reflecting the total compensation package and benefits, will be determined by a number of factors including the applicant's experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity among our team.
