Position Summary:
 
The Maintenance Assistant will support the Maintenance Team. Their responsibilities include performing routine repair work and cleaning tasks while responding to requests and assisting with other duties as assigned.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
 
  • Perform minor repair work which may include repairing doors, locks, handles as well as replacing light bulbs.
  • Perform regular cleaning duties such as throwing out trash, breaking down and throwing out boxes.
  • Maintain outdoor areas which entail picking up debris in the parking lot and surrounding building.
  • Perform basic plumbing tasks which include unclogging toilets and drains, fixing leaking faucets.
  • Responsible for inventory of maintenance supplies, notifying the supervisor of low stock and placing an order for new items.
  • Communicate regularly with other department supervisors, peers, or subordinates.
  • Respond to emergency calls for maintenance and repairs.
  • Work schedule may require weekend and after-hours assignments and other duties as assigned.
 
Requirements:
 
  • High school diploma preferred
  • Experience working with power tools
  • Experience with measuring tools
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
  • Must be able to lift 45 pounds at a time
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment
  • Must be able to traverse facilities and machinery by lifting, walking, bending, twisting and carrying materials
