Position Summary:
As a Jr. Technical Document Designer, you will support the creation of clear, concise, and visually appealing technical documentation that communicates technical information to a diverse audience. Working under guidance, you will assist subject matter experts and cross-functional teams including engineering, marketing, and sales to develop product and process documentation. This role is ideal for someone with a basic foundation in technical writing and design, who is eager to learn and grow in a collaborative environment.

Location Reporting Relationships:
The Jr. Technical Document Designer will be based in Miami and report to the Sr. Product Manager.

Key Responsibilities:
Content Development:
- Assist with gathering and organizing technical content from subject matter experts.
- Help translate technical concepts into - customer facing documentation.
- Support the updating and development of user manuals, product guides, and data specifications.
Visual Design:
- Contribute to designing clean, user-friendly layouts and basic visual assets.
- Use design tools to help create simple illustrations, diagrams, or models.
- Maintain consistency with formatting and branding guidelines.
Documentation Lifecycle Management:
- Participate in document drafting, formatting, and version tracking.
- Assist with updates based on product changes or team feedback.
- Support document organization and file management processes.
User Experience Focus:
- Ensure clarity and accessibility in documentation from a user’s perspective.
- Help gather user feedback and participate in product assembly and reviews.
- Work with team members to ensure documents align with user needs.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate with team members across departments to gather information.
- Learn to communicate technical content effectively to various audiences.
- Attend meetings and reviews to gain insight and provide input.
Requirements:
- Knowledgeable with documentation tools such as SolidWorks, or Adobe Creative Cloud (basic experience or coursework).
- Familiarity of 3D models.
- Bachelor’s degree or current pursuit of a related degree in graphic design.
- Internship or coursework experience in technical writing, documentation, or related fields.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Basic understanding of technical terminology with a willingness to learn quickly.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to follow direction, work collaboratively, and meet deadlines and pivot when necessary
Preferred Skills:
- Exposure to industry standards for technical documentation (academic or internship experience a plus).
