Position Summary:    
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Prototype Technician with a minimum of 5+ of hands-on expertise in carpentry, machining and hand tools operation. The ideal candidate should be resourceful, detail-oriented, and possess a deep understanding of prototype development processes. English and/or Spanish speaking is required, along with the ability to lift at least 40lbs.    
    
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:    
  • Prototype Fabrication:
    
Construct prototypes using advanced carpentry and machining techniques.    
Utilize manufacturing hand tools to shape, assemble, and refine prototype components.    
    
  • Technical Expertise:
    
Apply extensive knowledge of materials, including wood, metals, and plastics, to create high-quality prototypes.    
Troubleshoot and solve technical challenges in the prototyping process.    
    
  • Resourcefulness:
    
Identify and implement cost-effective solutions for prototype development.    
Utilize creativity and ingenuity to overcome obstacles during the prototyping phase.    
    
  • Collaboration:
    
Work closely with cross-functional teams of engineers to understand project requirements.    
Communicate effectively in English and/or Spanish to ensure seamless collaboration.    
    
  • Direction-Following:
    
Ability to interpret and execute tasks with minimal instructions, demonstrating a high level of self-motivation and autonomy.    
Follow design specifications and project guidelines accurately.    
    
  • Quality Control:
    
Conduct thorough quality checks on prototypes to ensure they meet design specifications.    
Make necessary adjustments and improvements to enhance the overall quality of prototypes.    
    
  • Equipment Operation:
    
Operate a variety of machinery and tools, demonstrating a deep understanding of their functions and maintenance requirements including measuring and testing devices if necessary.     
    
Education and Qualifications:    
  • Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in prototype development.
  • Proven track record of successful projects showcasing expertise in carpentry, machining, and manufacturing hand tools.
  • Proficient in both English and Spanish, with excellent written and verbal communication skills in both languages.
  • Ability to lift at least 40lbs.
  • Comfortable working in a physically demanding environment.
  • Relevant technical education and certifications are a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a demonstrated ability to think critically and find innovative solutions.
