About the Role
Reporting to the Manager, Corporate Accounting, the Corporate Accountant is responsible for managing the corporate accounting function for the Toronto corporate office, including payroll processing (for both local and expatriate employees), monthly accounting close activities such as accruals, intercompany transactions, and reconciliations, and providing expertise and support to our Mexican office. Experience with SAP, Concur, and Dayforce is highly valued. We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized professional to join our Toronto-based Finance team.

What We're Looking for:
Qualifications:
- CPA designation preferred
Experience & Skills:
- 3+ years of experience in Accounting, Accounts Payable & Payroll
- Experience with SAP, Concur, or other accounting software is a strong asset.
- Experience with Dayforce or other third-party payroll software preferred
- Experience managing month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.
- Experience in preparing and reconciling payroll for both local and expatriate employees.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel skills required
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
- Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills
- High level of discretion and ability to maintain confidentiality
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Key Accountabilities
Payroll
Corporate:
- Support semi-monthly payroll processing, including benefits, RRSP adjustments, and Director fees
- Record payroll entries in SAP and ensure accurate reconciliation and reporting
- Collaborate with HR on payroll master data updates and special calculations
- Assist with annual filings and government remittances (e.g., T4s, EHT)
Expatriates:
- Calculate and process semi-monthly payroll and tax withholdings for expat employees
- Coordinate payment processes, including wire transfers and SAP entries
- Issue pay stubs and prepare related intercompany invoices
Accounts Payable
- Assist the Cuernavaca office as required with the processing of payables
- Prepare payment proposals for Corporate and Ontario Inc. as needed, including supporting documentation
- Correspond with vendors regarding inquiries and to resolve administrative issues
Corporate Accounting
- Support month-end close activities, including accruals, intercompany transactions, depreciation, and equity-related entries
- Maintain accurate records through reconciliations, variance analysis, and trial balance reviews
- Manage employee setups and administer the Concur Expense system, including payment releases and e-transfer postings
- Review daily banking activity to ensure proper transaction accounting
- Respond to ad hoc requests from the Finance team and internal stakeholders

The posted salary range represents our target pay for this role. Final compensation will be determined based on the comprehensive review of the candidate’s qualifications, skills, and experience, as well as internal equity and external benchmark data for comparable roles.
