The Company

Torex Gold Resources Inc. is an intermediate gold producer engaged in the exploration, development, and operation of our wholly-owned Morelos Property, an area of 29,000 hectares in the highly prospective Guerrero Gold Belt located 180 kilometers southwest of Mexico City. The Company is based in Canada, with our Corporate Office located in Toronto, Ontario. As of 2023, Torex became the largest gold producer in Mexico.

The Company’s mining asset is the Morelos Complex, which includes the El Limón Guajes (“ELG”) Mining Complex, the Media Luna Project, a processing plant, and related infrastructure. Commercial production from the ELG Mining Complex began in April 2016, and the Company’s Media Luna project, located seven kilometers south of the ELG Complex, is currently under construction with commercial production expected to begin in 2025.

Torex’s key strategic objectives are to deliver Media Luna to full production, integrate and optimize the Morelos Complex, retain and attract the best industry talent, build on ESG excellence, and grow organically through ongoing exploration across the entire Morelos Property and through potential value accretive M&A.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Business or Accounting.
  • CPA designation.

Experience and skills:

  • Minimum of 3 - 5 years of experience in accounting and finance
  • Financial analysis, including cost accounting concepts (fixed/variable, allocations, unit costs), variance analysis, and preparing graphs and tabular summaries.
  • Accounting, including revenue, opex and capex classification, inventory, fixed assets and depreciation, leases, cash flow statements, reconciliations, and consolidation.
  • Communication and teamwork, including: building relationships and collaborating with cross-functional and site teams, explaining complex ideas, and writing clearly.
  • Working knowledge of financial models and advanced Excel functionality is required.

Key Deliverables

  • Coordination: Manage the monthly FP&A reporting calendar and workflow. Track and resolve all FP&A requests, communicate emerging risks to reporting timelines, and ensure timely issue resolution.
  • Financial Analysis: Conduct in-depth analysis correlating key business drivers in mining, processing, and logistics to financial performance. Prepare detailed GL/cost centre-level spend analyses, explaining both what happened and why in terms of financial variance.
  • Management Reporting: Update FP&A workbooks and prepare various reports for management, board, and external audiences, including day-three flash reports, monthly operations reports, executive team reports, and capital reports. Provide ad hoc reports for financial reporting and investor relations teams.
  • Forecasting: Obtain and enter all operational and financial data, support review of model inputs and outputs, and prepare analyses and reports to ensure accuracy and performance against budget.
  • Budgeting: Support multi-year budget modeling by managing inputs and ensuring the accuracy of operations and financial data. Assist in drafting analyses, including graphs, tables, and waterfalls for the annual board budget reporting.
