The Role
The Manager, Project Controls, is accountable for implementing controls and practices related to project planning, scheduling, earned value management, associated costs, cash management, and providing visibility on the project's direction early enough to enable course correction.

What We're Looking for:
- Education:- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field.
- Professional certifications (e.g., PMP, AACE CCP) are advantages.
 
- Experience:- Minimum of 15 years of experience in project controls, with a significant portion in the mining sector.
- Proven track record of managing large-scale mining projects, including underground, open-pit, and infrastructure projects.
 
- Skills- Strong proficiency in project management software (e.g., Primavera, PRISM, and ERP systems).
- Advanced knowledge of project earned value and cost management principles.
- Strong proficiency in Primavera
- Strong proficiency in project management software, such as PRISM, and ERP systems
- Proficiency in Spanish/English (verbal and written)
- Traveling for this role will be 40%-50%
 
Key Accountabilities
Project Controls Management
- Manage and advise on the application of Project Controls procedures, processes, and the standards required to deliver projects and studies.
- Monitoring and development of Change Management and trending processes related to site construction contracts, suppliers, services, and engineering contract changes.
- Establish, review, and validate estimating requirements to support project change management and manage project contingency plans.
- Organize the Owner’s Team project procedures and execution plan.
- Maintain interface with company business systems and work with Corporate Finance to reconcile the project cost system with Torex GL.
- Interface with Corporate teams to review and ensure project financial governance issues/requirements are addressed.
Project Schedule Analysis and Review
- Oversight and validation of project earned value management controls and services, reporting, and scheduling activities related to both management and field activities.
- Evaluating the project to ensure adequate resourcing of project controls personnel to support project demands.
- Responsible for project schedule, development, and updates (update weekly work progress plans)
- Identify, validate, and recommend remedies for various trends and including out-of-scope issues, and report to the Project Director.
- Responsible for the preparation of the project schedule, risk analysis related to schedule forecasts.
Project Cost Review
- Oversight and validation of project cost management controls and services, related to both management and field activities.
- Management of the Owner’s team cost reporting, which shall include Corporate Technical Services budgets
- Responsible for the preparation of the project cost budgets and cash flow forecasts in conjunction with respective budget owners (Project and Corporate).
- Responsible for the preparation of cost risk analysis related to overall project forecasts.
Reporting and Document Management
- Prepare progress reports and forecasts when required (developing cost reports format, project work plans, and analyzing current schedule/cost trends and identifying potential problem areas) through the consolidation of overall project reporting.
- Project reporting as required to support the project team and various corporate reporting requirements.
- Interface with the Procurement and Contracts group to provide input into the contract formation process with respect to payment terms to allow for the applicable progression of work.
- Ensure RFQ/RFPs have proper budget allocation, coding, and tender form details.
