About the role:

Are you an Engineering Manager with an Image Processing or Automotive background?

We need you to join our XPERI Global Imaging & Audio Innovation Business to work on cutting edge Imaging and Audio technologies and solutions, employing Machine Learning and AI.

The successful candidate will be part of the Office of the CTO ML-Data team to develop ML-Data related systems, frameworks, processes and tools that will be used by our various AI R&D teams, in order to acquire, create, process and manage datasets used for the development of our advanced machine learning and AI imaging and audio technologies.

Location: Bucharest

What you will get to do:

  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing, multi-disciplinary ML-Data Tools and Infrastructure development team.
  • Oversee the design, development and deployment of multiple data acquisition and management tools and systems.
  • Be the voice of the customer as you guide development teams through all the project’s lifecycle
  • Partner closely with Engineering, R&D, IT, Data Security and Privacy departments, and other internal stakeholders to develop data acquisition and management tools requirements and to ensure alignment with roadmaps.
  • Champion and advocate the use of 3D model based and synthetic data at all levels of the organization.
  • Deliver and implement Data Privacy and Security policies on relevant data acquisition and management projects

Who we are looking for:

Must have:

  • 8+ years of experience in Software Development and / or Data Management.
  • 6+ years of experience leading and directing distributed cross-functional SW Development or Data teams.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Proven track record in shipping products and services for data management, data acquisition or annotation.
  • Expert knowledge and experience with driving and applying data acquisition and management processes while working collaboratively with cross-functional teams including Engineering, R&D, Data Security, and IT.
  • Demonstrated experience in owning and independently managing multiple data management, and SW tools development projects efficiently.
  • Experience deploying Agile methodologies and related tools on projects
  • Initiative, self-motivated, with superior attention to details
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

 Nice to have:

  • Knowledge and experience with machine learning, AI development and/or computer vision
  • Work experience in the Automotive market (including ASPICE, and similar standards)
  • Knowledge of using Jira, Confluence is a plus
  • Knowledge of digital photography and cameras
