About the role:

The Xperi Business Applications team is a group of high-energy individuals who focus on meeting objectives by providing innovative solutions and bringing clarity and simplicity to complex business and technology problems.  A critical component of this team is the Reporting team who in conjunction with Integration and Data Management team gather requirements, identify opportunities, and facilitate solution creation and implementation. We have an opening for an individual to join this team as a Business Intelligence Engineer and help us deliver on our upcoming roadmap of exciting projects.

This is an excellent opportunity for the qualified candidate to leverage his/her seasoned Integration skills to impact a diverse set of process gaps with state-of-the-art solutions.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

The ideal candidate will build our Reporting Datasets and Models. He/She will work closely with analysts, functional leaders, organizational units, and subject matter experts to identify develop, and deploy new reports that are core to our business.

A solid background in various software development lifecycles (SDLCs), and Agile, as well as a solid understanding and exposure to project artifacts such as business requirements documentation, design docs, and test plans, will be essential.

Often, the ideal candidate will participate in frequent and impromptu working sessions with team members that provide the candidate with opportunities to collaborate with systems programmers and business stakeholders to set specifications across the development lifecycle. 

The ideal candidate will be expected to:

·            Minimum 7 years of software or systems engineering experience with a minimum of 4 years of experience in architecting, configuring, deploying, and supporting Reporting and Visualization solutions.

·            Work closely with Business to capture Requirements

·            Translate business needs to technical specifications

·            Design, build and deploy BI solutions

·            Maintain and support data analytics platforms (Power BI / Tableau/Looker)

·            Perform E2E /Unit and Functional Test for the developed BI Solutions

·            Evaluate and improve existing BI Dashboards

·            Work in Agile framework

·            Experience working with consuming Data from Datawarehouse, and Data Lake

·            Develop and execute advance database queries and conduct analyses

·            Create visualizations and reports for requested projects

·            Ensure we use accurate and secure methods to extract data

·            Develop and update technical documentation

·            Establish/ Enhance procedures for data sharing with internal and external stakeholders

·            Strong skills in statistics and reporting

Required Education, Experience and Skills:

BS degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Computer Systems, or Mathematics is desirable

  • Bachelor’s in computer science/IT/Information Systems or any relevant Engineering field
  • Analytical mind with a problem-solving aptitude
  • Strong SQL skills
  • Expert at one of the BI tooling - Tableau, PowerBI. Tableau is preferred
  • Good understanding of Databases - Relational, KV, columnar
  • BIRST familiarity is highly preferred
  • SSRS/SSIS familiarity is a plus
  • Knowledge of Cloud systems like Salesforce, NetSuite, Service Now is preferred.
  • Some knowledge of Data Processing Frameworks like Hadoop is a plus
  • Good understanding of ETL/ELT tools and processes
  • Cloud BI Tooling experience is a plus
  • Experience with AWS commonly used service- S3, Athena, RDS

The estimated base salary range for this full-time position is $116,471 - $148,500 plus bonus, equity, and benefits, and can vary if outside of this location. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, competencies, experience, market demands, internal parity, and relevant education or training.
