Thompson Pipe Group is looking for a Concrete Fabricator Technician. This person will be responsible for performing all functions necessary to produce precast concrete products efficiently and safely under supervision. Work in a team environment to accomplish the required tasks.  Pay Range $23.00 to $28.00 per Hour depending on experience.     
    
JOB SUMMARY:
Maintains high quality maintenance of CONCRETE MOLDS through preventative maintenance, minor repair, and visual evaluation.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
•    Must be a team player willing to educate and share ideals when needed.
•    Read and understand tooling drawings and follow instructions.
•    Repair and upkeep of the pouring molds and vibrators.
•    Installation of straps for wrapping and any welding repairs needed during finishing process.
•    Able to clean molds and assist with Production problems when needed.
•    Develop and utilize Preventative Maintenance methods
•    Work to a schedule and meet deadlines in a timely manner.
•    Maintain a clean and well-organized work area.
•    Utilize measuring equipment that include micrometers, calipers, height gage, bore micrometers, etc.
•    Maintain component spare parts inventory and order as needed
•    Maintain all tools and equipment that are used including the daily cleaning of tool room machinery.
•    Assist in maintaining maintenance records on the company computer system.
•    Be able to work on the production floor with tool in press to correct any issue to keep down time at a minimum.
•    Troubleshoot and repair Hot Manifold systems Example: Mold Master, Husky, etc.
•    Polish and bench work subcomponents and assemblies.
•    Ability to fit new details and spot in.
•    Ability to troubleshoot functional issues and repair.
QUALIFICATIONS:
•    3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in a tool room involving concrete/metal mold repair or mold maintenance.
•    Experience using hand operated tool room equipment.
•    Knowledge and understanding of mold and die components and their respective characteristics.
•    Ability to read and understand tooling drawings.
•    Good verbal and written communication skills.
•    Basic computer skills

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:
The physical demands and working conditions requirement indicated below are examples of the demands that must be performed in carrying out the essential job functions.
Physical Demands:
Sitting, standing, and walking (up to continuously); frequent use of computer and telephone requiring repetitive finger, hand, and arm movement; occasionally carry office supplies and other miscellaneous items up to 50 pounds. Continuous use of seeing, hearing, verbal communication.
Working Conditions: Work indoors and outdoors; exposure to temperatures commensurate with outdoor seasonal temperatures.
Requirements:
•    Pass technical assessment addressing job-critical maintenance knowledge areas
•    Experience with mechanical systems (e.g., gear boxes, chains, sprockets, motors, seals, bearings).
•    Experience with product manuals (e.g., reading and applying knowledge to make repairs).
•    Experience with troubleshooting electrical and mechanical breakdowns (pinpointing and fixing breakdowns).
•    Experience with reading mechanical drawings (e.g., hydraulics, pneumatics).
    
Work Environment
  • The work environment is not climate controlled and is subject to outdoor weather conditions. Team members are exposed to sounds and noise levels that are distracting.
Work Hours
  • Monday-Friday (Mandatory OT Saturdays based on business needs)
  •  (Holidays are off)
  • 8 to 10 hour shifts
