We are looking for a Group Account Director to join our Advertising team!
The Group Account Director (GAD) leads and manages the client/agency relationship and fosters collaboration with the cross functional agency team. The GAD provides senior strategic leadership across one or more brands and/or key workstreams, helps manage and mentor the agency team, drives brand development and scope development/execution, and ensures account profitability. This person possesses a strong understanding of marketing, brand strategy, and the pharmaceutical industry, including global launch planning and omnichannel execution, and serves as an emerging agency leader.
Responsibilities:
- Understands product or disease state insights, research, and data and applies against the brand
- Keeps up to date on industry and category trends
- Leads development of the Client’s tactical plan and budget based on comprehension of the strategic imperatives or goals for the brand
- Contributes appropriate insights, facts, and data to foster the planning and creative process
- Challenges ideas and direction not aligned with the brand strategies in a diplomatic way, to gain consensus
- Contributes new ideas that add value to the Client by improving brand/product performance
- Identifies areas for opportunity around omnichannel execution, integration, and analytics to elevate or enhance a tactic or program
- Guides omnichannel planning across key channels (e.g., HCP/patient), ensuring connected journeys, channel roles, and sequencing are clearly defined
- Effectively presents and defends agency POV
- Handles client objections in a professional manner and reinforces company culture and values, in all interactions
- Proactively communicates client issues or roadblocks, and partners with the team to present solutions
- Manages client expectations and pushes back on certain client requests, as needed
- Oversees development of client status reports
- Serves as a senior point of contact, building trusted relationships with decision-makers and cross-functional client stakeholders
- Partners with Client and internal teams to support launch planning and readiness, including global/regional alignment, key milestones, and deliverable governance
- Partners with discipline leads (Strategy, Creative, Media, Digital, Analytics, PRC/MLR) to ensure integrated ways of working and high-quality output
- Submits estimates to client, and ensures signed documentation is received
- Works with Project Management to define appropriate estimates based on project scope
- Leads scope management conversations, including change orders, risk identification, and proactive recommendations to protect account health
- Oversees/manages submissions to Client and PRC/MLR
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience leading launch planning/execution, including global and/or multi-market launches
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Minimum of 8+ years of relevant experience in healthcare advertising, with progressive leadership responsibility
- Understands marketing mix: print, digital, and media
- Omnichannel experience: understands channel roles, connected journeys, and integrated measurement/optimization
- Understands the principles for brand positioning and application to promotional decisions
- Strong problem-solving skills

The anticipated salary range for this position will be $135,000-$175,000. Salary is based on job-related factors such as: years of relevant experience, qualifications and/or certifications. Spectrum reserves the right to modify this pay range at any given time.
