Freelance Account VP, Oncology Communications
Description
Job Listing: Freelance Account VP, Oncology Communications
Engagement Type: Freelance
Start: ASAP
Duration: ~3 months (with potential to extend)
Time Commitment: Approximately 35–45%
Level: VP‑level, senior client‑facing leadership
Role Overview
We are seeking a senior oncology account leader to provide near‑term, high‑impact support for a key client engagement. This is a hands‑on advisory role focused on strategic counsel, narrative development, and senior‑level client leadership while longer‑term coverage is scaled.
The role is not centered on day‑to‑day execution. Instead, this individual will serve as a trusted advisor—guiding strategy, shaping messaging around complex clinical data, and leading senior discussions with confidence and clarity.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide strategic, client‑facing leadership for oncology communications initiatives
• Shape strategy and narrative around clinical data, medical meetings, and milestone communications
• Advise senior biotech leadership through fast‑moving and complex data moments
• Lead and participate in senior‑level discussions, offering calm, confident guidance
• Partner with internal teams to guide direction and decision‑making, rather than executing deliverables
• Support continuity and momentum during a period of transition
Ideal Candidate Profile
We’re looking for someone who is:
• Deeply experienced in oncology communications, with a strong understanding of clinical and scientific storytelling
• Comfortable advising senior biotech leadership in dynamic, data‑driven environments
• Strategic, composed, and confident, particularly during high‑stakes moments
• Experienced working within an agency and/or in‑house biotech setting
• Able to step in quickly and add value with minimal ramp‑up
Additional Details
• Freelance, remote, project-based role
• Compensation determined per project scope and experience
• U.S.-based freelancers only
• Full access to internal collaboration tools and onboarding resources
