Join Our Team  

You will be our Associate General Counsel, Head of P&L Support, a member of the Senior Leadership Team of the Legal, Regulatory, and Compliance Department.  In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day legal and regulatory support for the P&L leaders and their respective underwriting teams in North America.  You will join us at an exciting time as we are growing and investing in our infrastructure to support the growth of our business. You will report to the Chief Legal Officer of SiriusPoint Ltd.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Oversee the day-to-day legal and regulatory support for all business units in North America, including Accident & Health, Property Casualty and Reinsurance.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to P&L leaders on all legal and regulatory support matters. 
  • Identify and analyze legal issues, and providing advice, counsel, and trainings on insurance and regulatory matters
  • Advise and assist with contract review, negotiations and drafting, including but not limited to, program administrator, broker/producer, third-party administrator, and license agreements, 
  • Participate in the review and preparation of policy wordings and (Re)Insurance contracts, including direct insurance and assumed and ceded reinsurance business.
  • Advise on product-related support, such as policy or manuscript language, and rate and product filings rules.
  • Advise and assist with the management, preparation and approval of marketing and advertising programs.
  • Collaborate with internal partners and multi-disciplinary teams to guide development of company policies and best practices.
  • Identifying coverage issues and potential litigation risk and coordinating with the in-house Litigation team on such matters. 
  • Providing guidance and assistance to the Compliance team in various jurisdictions as it relates to our products and services in North America.
  • Manage legal projects by defining scope, setting milestones, delegating tasks, tracking progress and reporting project results to ensure successful and efficient implementation.
  • Staying abreast of legal and regulatory developments affecting the Company’s products and operations, including conducting legal research and preparing memoranda regarding legislative developments.
  • Lead the P&L Support team, including hiring, developing and retaining team members; and overseeing work delegated to team members.

Your skills and abilities should include:

  • Experience as in-house and/or external counsel with a minimum of 10 - 15 years of insurance and/or reinsurance expertise, with knowledge of business line products.
  • Being a member, in good standing, of the New York Bar (preferred) and/or any US State.
  • Ability to manage others while meeting and/or exceeding deadlines - prioritizing, multi-tasking and maintaining flexibility in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Being an exceptional communicator, collaborator and influencer. Skilled at engaging with and building trusted relationships with C-suite leaders and other key stakeholders. Able to bring people together.
  • Ability to operate and excel at both strategic and tactical levels. Willingness to roll up your sleeves to get things done.

SALARY:  The estimated salary range for this position is $250,000 per year to $280,000 per year. This is a good-faith assessment of the salary range for this position only.  In determining the actual salary within this range, SiriusPoint will consider a candidate’s relevant experience, location, and other job-related factors.
