Description

Position Overview

The Director of the PMO (NPD) is responsible for the Program Management Office (PMO) which includes all program management associated with new product development (NPD).  It includes functional management responsibilities for managers with individual responsibility over NPD in the IVL business unit. The Director of the PMO (NPD) works with project managers and functional leaders to facilitate creation of budgets necessary to execute programs and ensures all programs have adequate program plans such that they are executed on time, within budget and consistent with company’s goals. 

Essential Job Functions
  • Functional management responsibilities for the NPD PMO, including mentoring and developing of the NPD PMO team.
  • Ensure adequate staffing for execution of NPD projects.
  • Partner with functional leads to ensure appropriate resources have been identified to complete company goals and objectives
  • Partner with finance team and functional leads to determine budgets necessary for completion of approved projects
  • Partner with marketing in the evaluation and creation of corporate product portfolio
  • Ensure appropriate visibility into the progress of major programs/projects across functions and levels, including the executive level
  • Provide oversite to ensure timely reviews for both NPD projects.
  • Facilitate business trade-off decisions and project reprioritization as required.
  • Identify and implement best practices for program management
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to design and execute organizational process improvements
  • As needed, coordinate and participate in events, which provide feedback such as physician interface meetings and clinical studies
Requirements
  • B.S. in Engineering or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in medical device development, including experience in leadership roles in all phases of product development.
  • Minimum of 5 years of direct management experience.
  • Experience running a PMO in a complex and high-growth environment, broad- and expert-level program/project management capabilities preferred.
  • Program Management Professional (PMP) certification highly preferred. 
  • Experience with disposable medical device development preferably vascular catheters and technology experience.
  • Experience taking a product from concept through clinical or commercial release.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
  • Demonstrated track record of establishing priorities and meeting deadlines.]
  • High level of enthusiasm, motivation, and drive for results.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, adept at navigating organizational challenges and possess ability to work with through others and accomplish objectives.
  • Ability to establish personal credibility and build trust quickly.
  • Employee may be required to lift objects up to 25lbs.  
Market Range: $193,000 - $241,000
Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
