A Data Governance Lead with completed implementations and certifications in non-invasive data governance plays a crucial role in any organization that handles significant amounts of data.
 
 
 
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
 
  • Strategic Data Governance Implementation: Lead the design and implementation of non-invasive data governance strategies that align with the organization's objectives and data architecture. This responsibility includes establishing and overseeing data standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with stakeholders, including IT, legal, compliance, and business units, to ensure data governance practices meet internal and external requirements and standards.
  • Training and Certification Management: Utilize your certifications in non-invasive data governance to train and mentor team members. Ensure continuous learning and certification in the latest data governance practices and tools.
  • Data Quality Management: Oversee the development and implementation of data quality standards, data protection standards, and audit mechanisms. Ensure the integrity and confidentiality of data.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Monitor compliance with data governance policies and regulations. Identify and mitigate risks associated with data handling and storage.
  • Data Governance Tools and Technologies: Implement and manage data governance tools and technologies. Stay abreast of new trends and advancements in data governance and management technologies.
  • Reporting and Metrics: Develop and maintain metrics and reports to track the effectiveness of data governance initiatives. Provide regular updates to senior management and key stakeholders.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other teams such as data science, analytics, and IT to ensure data governance practices are integrated throughout the organization.
 
Education and Work Experience 
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in data governance, focusing on non-invasive data governance. Experience in implementing data governance frameworks and policies.
  • Relevant certifications in data governance, such as the Data Governance and Stewardship Professional (DGSP) or similar.
  • Strong understanding of data governance principles and practices.
  • Excellent leadership and project management skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in data governance tools and software.
 
Work Environment 
This job operates in a professional remote office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment, including but not limited to, computers, phones, and photocopiers. 
 
Physical Demands 
This position requires the frequent and repetitive use of a computer, keyboard, and mouse. Hand and finger dexterity is required.
