ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking an experienced and commercially astute Senior Legal Counsel to join our Legal Commercial team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of six years of post-qualification experience, with a strong background in commercial law and a deep understanding of the iGaming sector. This is a senior role suited to a proactive legal professional who thrives in a fast-paced, regulated industry and is ready to take ownership of complex legal matters while coordinating junior team members.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of complex commercial agreements, including SaaS contracts, service agreements, licensing arrangements, lease agreements, and related addenda, ensuring compliance across multiple jurisdictions and mitigating associated risks.
  • Serve as legal point of contact for key internal stakeholders - including sales, procurement, and finance - providing clear, strategic, and actionable legal advice on client-facing and vendor agreements.
  • Act as a trusted senior legal advisor, translating complex legal and regulatory obligations into practical guidance that supports informed, commercially sound decision-making across the business.
  • Oversee and coordinate junior legal counsels, reviewing their work product, providing constructive feedback, and supporting their professional development.
  • Manage workstreams within the legal commercial team, ensuring matters are appropriately resourced and deadlines are met without compromising quality.
  • Conduct in-depth legal research across relevant jurisdictions, ensuring all commercial activity remains compliant with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Stay at the forefront of evolving legal, regulatory, and compliance developments within the iGaming industry, proactively advising the business on required adjustments and strategic implications.
  • Design, own, and continuously improve contract templates, playbooks, and internal legal policies governing contract creation, approval, and storage.
  • Engage with external legal advisors and specialist counsel on complex or jurisdiction-specific matters, managing scope, cost, and quality of advice.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally on business-critical projects, providing senior legal input at early stages to identify risk and enable efficient deal execution.
  • Support the VP of Legal and Head of Legal - Commercial on strategic initiatives, departmental projects, and ad hoc matters as required.

WHAT WE ASK OF YOU

  • A law degree from an accredited university in any EU or UK jurisdiction.
  • A minimum of six years of post-qualification experience as a practicing lawyer, with a strong focus on commercial or corporate law.
  • Demonstrable experience in the iGaming sector, including familiarity with gaming regulations, licensing frameworks, and industry-specific contractual considerations.
  • Proven expertise in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex commercial agreements, including those with significant cross-jurisdictional elements.
  • Exceptional ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly and concisely to non-legal stakeholders at all levels of seniority.
  • Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to balance legal risk management against broader business objectives.
  • Outstanding negotiation skills, capable of securing favourable outcomes while preserving positive business relationships.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities across a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
  • High degree of self-motivation, accountability, and the ability to operate independently at a senior level with minimal supervision.
  • Proactive and strategic mindset - able to anticipate legal and regulatory challenges and implement solutions before issues arise.
  • Collaborative and team-oriented, with a commitment to sharing knowledge and elevating the wider legal function.
