Sensor Characterization Engineer
Description
- Perform bench testing and analyze key performance of image sensors products.
- Conduct analytic studies of CMOS image sensor’s fundamental performance issues and provide technical suggestions of improvement.
- Work with analog/digital design team to troubleshoot chip/system level performance
Issues.
- Process and analyze quantum efficiency and chief ray angle data for product development.
- Conduct process failure analysis for mobile and automotive image sensors.
- Develop scientific image quality measure and ISP verification tools.
- Conduct modeling and simulation of imaging systems.
- Conduct image quality calibration, evaluation and analysis, and ISP pipeline tuning.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, production, and firmware, to address performance issues and ensure alignment with customer requirements.
- Conduct silicon validation and performance testing to ensure CMOS image sensors meet design specifications and performance standards. Assess the electrical performance of sensors using tools such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and multimeters.
- Apply in-depth knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic components, along with a strong command of both hardware and software systems, including relevant programming skills, to improve sensor functionality and performance.
Requirements:
Master’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
Required knowledge/skills of:
- CMOS analog/digital circuits and semiconductor device physics.
- Semiconductor processing& packaging integration.
- Data analysis and scripting using MATLAB and Python.
- EDA tools such as Synopsys Custom Compiler.
- Circuit simulation using Cadence Virtuoso.
- Problem-solving and analytical skills, with a detail-oriented and methodical approach to debugging and optimization.
- Hardware scheduling and retiming
- Designclock synchronization circuits.
- Using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and multimeters.
Annual base salary for this role in California, US is expected to be between $156,853 - $160,000. Actual pay will be determined on a number of factors such as relevant skills and experience, and the pay of employees in the similar role.
