2.  JOB PURPOSE

JOB FUNCTION:

    Responsible for driving Quality engineering throughout the company to achieve ZERO DEFECT commitment, with emphasis on Automotive systems.

 

1o DUTIES:

    To ensure the maintenance and full observance of Works Rules, Health & Safety regulations and good working practices, and report any disciplinary matters to the Quality Manager

    Conform to quality commitments and lead by example.

    Coordinate Customer concern investigation, resolution, and documentation using RCA analysis techniques such 5Ys, Ishikawa diagram, IS/IS NOT analysis.

    Coordinate with production and engineering department,  Internal concern investigation, resolution, and documentation.

    Conduct final product audit according to QMS sampling plan including component dimensional, gauge and visual checks.

    Conduct internal (Manufacturing / Systems) and product audit as required per audit plan.

    Coordinating with Program manager, APQP requirements for new products including PPAP & product revalidations.

    Liaison with customers and vendors on quality engineering matters, including 8D validation from vendors.

    Development of systems/procedures in accordance with relevant Automotive Standards, including ISO9001 and TS16949.

    Preparation, updates and maintenance of all quality documentation including control plans, FMEA.

    Conduct component dimensional, gauge and visual checks if required.

    Ensure Customer Specific requirements are understood and implemented throughout QMS documentation.

 

2o DUTIES:

    Deputising for Quality Manager in their absence.

    Carrying our measurement systems analysis.

    Maintain a high standard of housekeeping in relevant areas.

    To assist management and staff in the identification, and introduction of all reasonable measures to improve productivity, quality and working methods and conditions as part of the Continual Improvement and TQM programs.

    Maintenance of Calibration systems

    Link with internal and External lab related to Mechanical testing; hardness tests; plating checks

    Cover First off / Last off measurement in QA lab during holidays if required

 

 

3.  KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED TO DO THE JOB

EXPERIENCE:

    Proven experience in Quality Engineering in Automotive 1st Tier (Ideally 5 years + )

    Experience of customer and automotive industry systems and procedures including IATF16949, ISO9001, APQP, PPAP etc.

    Degree, HND, HNC, or quality equivalent preferred

    Internal audit experience (Trained to ISO9001 and IATF16949)

    Knowledge of Cold forging process (Preferred but not essential)
