About the role

You will lead a dynamic academic team based at the School of Medicine Broome campus to deliver the end-to-end Doctor of Medicine program. You will work in collaboration with the National Head of Medical Education and Innovation, National Head of Quality and Assessment, and domain and discipline leads for program delivery and management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership to the KCRMT team.
  • Coordinate the delivery of the Doctor of Medicine curriculum at KCRMT and assessment.
  • Work collaboratively with Broome campus, faculty, school academics, and professional staff to ensure high-quality teaching and learning experiences.
  • Monitor student feedback and clinical site evaluations to ensure program effectiveness.
  • Contribute to accreditation and internal and external reports.
  • Contribute to the planning and development of long-term strategies for rural medical education and workforce development.
  • Represent the KCRMT program at community events, regional networks, and professional forums.
  • Promote rural medical careers and support outreach to local schools and pre-medical programs.
  • Contribute to the scholarship of teaching and learning.

Qualifications, skills & experience

Level D Associate Professor

You will maintain a record of excellent in teaching in a department, school, faculty or other organisational unit or an interdisciplinary area. You will play a leadership role in the promotion of major digital enhancements to pedagogical practices and professional activities. You will have advanced qualifications and recognised significant experience in the relevant discipline area. You require a doctoral qualification or equivalent accreditation and standing. In determining experience relative to qualifications, regard will be had to teaching experience, experience in research, experience outside tertiary education, creative achievement, professional contributions and/or technical achievement. In addition, you require a record of demonstrable scholarly and professional achievement in the relevant discipline area. This includes having authority to commit resources in line with the Operational Delegations of Authority.

  • Possession of a PhD or a Medical qualification registrable with AHPRA and a Fellowship of a relevant professional body.
  • Experience in teaching at Masters level or higher or in medical, health or professional practice-based education settings.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading a team within the higher education or health service sector.

Level E Professor

You will be expected to exercise a special responsibility in providing leadership in fostering excellence in teaching, professional activities and policy development in the academic discipline within the department or other comparable organisational unit, within the institution and within the community, both scholarly and general.

  • Possession of a PhD or a Medical qualification registrable with AHPRA and a Fellowship of a relevant professional body.
  • Demonstrated experience in teaching at Masters level or higher or in medical, health or professional practice-based education settings.
  • Demonstrated significant experience in leading a team within the higher education or health service sector.
