About the role
The Associate Dean Research provides research leadership within the Faculty of Education, Philosophy & Theology, builds research culture across the Faculty, and collaborates across the University with the Associate Deans Research in the Faculties of Arts, Sciences, Law and Business, and Medicine, Nursing and Midwifery, Health Sciences & Physiotherapy.
Key Responsibilities
- Work in collaboration with the Director of the Research Institute to provide leadership and expertise to the faculty by building research capacity and research culture, and offering research professional development to:
a. Develop all Faculty academics’ contribution to the UNDA Research Strategy and the research components of the Faculty Plan through collaboration and capacity building.
b. Support the design, delivery and review of high quality, consistent, ethical interdisciplinary/cross disciplinary research programs linked to UNDA Research Strategy.
c. Proactively identifify research opportunities and external strategic partnerships aligned with UNDA Objects; and
d. Focus on benchmarking and continuous improvement for academic staff at all stages of their career through professional development and mentoring.
- Be an example of impactful, ethical, inclusive and socially supportive research focused on enriching lives and the experiences of people in society.
- Support the Executive Dean and FEPT colleagues to seek international research
collaborations for UNDA
Qualifications, skills & experience
In addition to the requirements for the Academic Classification Level (typically of a Level D) that underpin this role.
