About the role

Reporting to the National Head of School, you will lead clinical education, accreditation readiness, and program quality across the School of Nursing and Midwifery, ensuring accredited and standards-aligned clinical education and placements across all campuses. Working with National Heads of Discipline, Program Coordinators, and senior leaders, you will support governance, accreditation, and continuous improvement, while strengthening healthcare partnerships to expand placements, enhance clinical supervision, and support research in clinical education.

Key Responsibilities

Program Accreditation, Coordination and Development

  • Lead the design, implementation, and evaluation of clinical education programs across disciplines.
  • Coordinate accreditation, re-accreditation, monitoring processes, and professional experience placements nationally.

Quality Assurance

  • Lead School-wide quality assurance to ensure program effectiveness, consistency, and compliance.
  • Support discipline-level quality processes in curriculum design, assessment, moderation, simulation, and PEP.
  • Ensure alignment with accreditation standards, professional requirements, and university quality frameworks.
  • Oversee continuous improvement processes, program review outcomes, and quality reporting.

Leadership and Strategic Planning

  • Provide leadership to Clinical Education teams across campuses.
  • Drive continuous improvement and innovation in clinical education and program quality.
  • Develop strategic initiatives to enhance program capacity, impact, and accreditation readiness.

Student Experience Enhancement

  • Support a positive student experience throughout the clinical education journey.
  • Implement feedback processes to inform improvements in program delivery and quality.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build strong partnerships with healthcare organisations to enhance placements and collaboration.
  • Represent the School in professional networks, conferences, and accreditation activities.
  • Contribute to planning, governance, and committee work within the School and Faculty.

Research Development

  • Promote research in clinical education and program quality.
  • Contribute through publications, research supervision, and scholarship of teaching and learning.
  • Seek funding and partnerships to support educational research initiatives.

Training and Support

  • Provide training and resources for staff and clinical supervisors.
  • Support effective clinical supervision, mentoring, and consistent academic standards.

Compliance and Reporting

  • Ensure compliance with university policies, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare reports on program performance, quality assurance, and accreditation outcomes.

Innovation in Education

  • Implement innovative teaching, technology, and placement models aligned with accreditation requirements.
  • Monitor emerging trends in healthcare education and integrate relevant practices.

Collaboration with Multidisciplinary Teams

  • Work collaboratively across campuses to ensure consistent standards and educational quality.
  • Facilitate interprofessional learning opportunities within clinical education.

Qualifications, skills & experience

  • Doctoral qualification in an area of Nursing, Midwifery or equivalent accreditation and standing together with relevant experience.
  • Substantial professional and academic experience in program accreditation, clinical education, and program quality assurance and academic leadership within nursing and/or midwifery education.
  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse and/or Midwife with AHPRA, with no conditions.
  • Demonstrated experience contributing to accreditation, re-accreditation, or regulatory compliance processes in higher education.
  • High-Level experience in stakeholder engagement and relationship management with external healthcare providers, including service agreements, contract management, and negotiation to support clinical education placements and partnerships.
  • Proven research and research training experience, evidenced by peer-reviewed publications, higher degree by research (HDR) supervision, and successful grant activity.
  • Demonstrated experience across teaching and learning, research and research training, professional practice, and contributions to clinical supervision, academic leadership, and quality assurance.
  • Extensive experience in clinical supervision, program accreditation, and educational material/curriculum development.
  • Proven capacity to provide strategic leadership in curriculum design and development and pedagogical innovation and program quality.
  • Skilled communicator with in-depth ability to collaborate and build strong relationship.
  • Ability to lead teams and projects under pressure while maintaining flexibility and high standards
  • Excellent prioritisation, organisational and time management skills with the capability to work collaboratively within a dynamic team and multi-campus environment.
  • Highly developed attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
