Compensation Range: $100,000 - $115,000 depending upon education, skills, and experience.

Job Description: Support development of cutting-edge laser and electro-optical systems.  The ideal candidate has at least 5 years professional machining/fabrication experience. Candidates must have experience leading and supporting a team.  Must be comfortable with execution of rapid turn precision machining modifications of existing components and/or fabrication of new components.  Candidates must also be willing to work additional duties related to facility support (clean rooms, high end chillers, generators, occasional simple facility maintenance activities, occasional travel to support testing at customer sites).
 
Responsibilities:
  • Extract task and schedule data from GitLab and organize daily, weekly, and monthly tasking.
  • Oversee daily operations, including production scheduling, resource allocation, and quality control measures.
  • Strategic planning: develop and implement long-term plans for the machine and fabrication shop including goals, objectives, and growth strategies.
  • BOM management and reconciliation.
  • Assist in development of methods and tools to support financial and contract activities.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement changes to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  • Implement and enforce safety policies and procedures to create a safe working environment.

  • Experience with maintaining and configuring machine shop equipment: mills, lathes, saws, and metrology tooling.  Preventative maintenance on CNC machine tools and facility items.

  • Practical knowledge of project management planning tools.
  • Positive attitude, strong troubleshooting skills and willingness to develop creative solutions to time-sensitive problems.
  • Excels in individual and collaborative work assignments, with focus on promoting a collaborative work environment.
  • Effectively manage schedule and priorities with minimal daily direction to meet mid to long-term schedule objectives.
 
Additional Desired Experience / Capability
  • Experience in task management using GitLab, JIRA, or similar platform.
  • Expertise in Fabrication and Assembly Drawing Preparation for manufacturing (ISO and ANSI standards) including experience with version control and change record documentation.
  • Experience with various manufacturing techniques – machining, sheet metal, injection molding, welding, etc.
  • Experience working in AS9100 or ISO9001 certified manufacturing facility.
