Requirements and responsibilities
What you’ll do
We are seeking an experienced Salesforce Principal Architect to lead architecture, design governance, and technical strategy for large-scale Salesforce transformation initiatives. The role requires deep multi-cloud expertise, strong integration and data architecture capabilities, and the ability to influence senior stakeholders while guiding delivery teams across complex programs.
Key Responsibilities
Architectural Leadership
- Own the end-to-end Salesforce architecture across Sales, Service, Experience Cloud, Revenue Cloud, FSC, Marketing Cloud, Data Cloud, MuleSoft, and AppExchange solutions.
- Define reference architectures, integration patterns, and platform standards aligned to enterprise goals.
- Lead solution blueprinting, estimations, and technical reviews for new programs and enhancements.
- Architect scalable data models considering sharing, performance, scalability, and extensibility.
- Drive API-led connectivity using MuleSoft or equivalent integration platforms.
Technical Governance
- Establish and enforce architecture guardrails, coding standards, and design best practices.
- Conduct design reviews and provide guidance to ensure compliance with enterprise patterns.
- Evaluate AppExchange packages, third-party tools, and integration frameworks.
- Govern DevOps, CI/CD, environment strategy, data residency, and platform security.
Program & Stakeholder Management
- Partner with business and IT leadership to translate business requirements into scalable, future-ready designs.
- Act as the trusted technical advisor for executives, product owners, and technical teams.
- Communicate architecture decisions, trade-offs, and risks effectively to all levels of the organization.
- Lead discovery workshops, solution architecture sessions, and roadmap planning.
Innovation & Thought Leadership
- Analyze emerging Salesforce features such as Agentforce, Einstein Copilot, Data Cloud activation, GenAI-driven automation.
- Lead platform modernization, technical debt reduction, and performance improvements.
- Mentor architects, technical leads, and engineering teams to build architectural maturity.
Delivery Excellence
- Ensure architectural solutions meet security, performance, reliability, and regulatory requirements.
- Support complex issue resolution, integration testing, performance testing, and release planning.
- Ensure consistency in architecture across multi-org, multi-vendor program landscapes.
What you’ll bring
Technical Expertise
- 10–15+ years total experience, with 8+ years on Salesforce in architect or senior technical roles.
- Strong expertise across multiple Salesforce Clouds (Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, FSC, Revenue Cloud, Data Cloud preferred).
- Hands-on proficiency in:
- Apex, LWC, Lightning Architecture
- Salesforce data modeling & sharing architecture
- REST/SOAP APIs, Platform Events, Streaming APIs, Kafka/Async APIs
- MuleSoft or other integration platforms
- DevOps tooling (Copado, GitLab, Azure DevOps, Gearset)
- Salesforce security (OAuth, SSO, Shield, event monitoring)
Leadership & Communication
- Proven track record leading architecture for large enterprise Salesforce programs.
- Strong communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to collaborate across global teams and manage multi-vendor environments.
- Skilled at simplifying complex technical concepts for business partners.
Certifications (preferred)
- Salesforce Certified Sales Cloud Consultant
- Salesforce Certified Service Cloud Consultant
- Salesforce Certified Platform Developer I (PD1)
- Salesforce Certified System Architect (CSA)
- Salesforce Certified Application Architect (CAA)
- MuleSoft Architect certifications are a plus.
- Cloud certifications (AWS/Azure/GCP) are an advantage.
