MRP & Supply Planner - Film/Materials

Description

The MRP & Supply Planner – Film/Materials partners closely with Procurement, Customer Service, and the Sales Business Unit to ensure optimal inventory availability and replenishment of film materials. This role is responsible for developing and executing effective stocking and replenishment strategies that balance customer demand, forecast accuracy, inventory levels, and obsolescence risk. The position supports internal and external customers through data-driven, flexible, and efficient supply planning solutions.

 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • · Maintain and further develop Multivac’s Materials Inventory Management Tool to provide visibility of inventory levels by material number, location, and customer demand
    · Partner with internal stakeholders to assess inventory needs against forecasts provided by the Materials Field Sales team
    · Manage stocking strategies across multiple warehouses, storage locations, and competing demand sources
    · Collaborate with internal teams to determine which film materials should be stocked and in what quantities
    · Analyze historical sales and customer data and combine it with future demand expectations to create accurate and reliable forecasts
    · Ensure timely inventory replenishment by monitoring on-hand inventory, inbound supply, and projected customer demand
    · Compare actual sales performance against forecasts to improve planning parameters, forecast accuracy, and to reduce excess and obsolete inventory
    · Coordinate with Procurement Specialists to recommend appropriate inventory stocking levels based on material type and customer usage
    · Monitor inventory weekly by material number, customer, and location to proactively identify and prevent stock shortages
    · Work with internal teams to ensure customer order requirements are met consistently
    · Support special requests such as slitting purchase orders and stocking materials for the Kansas City Innovation Center and regional offices
    · Identify and support continuous improvement initiatives within MRP and supply planning processes
    · Participate in cross-functional teams focused on process and performance improvement
    · Track, maintain, and report key performance indicators (KPIs), including inventory value, turns, and aging
    · Monitor customer stocking agreements and ensure appropriate inventory is available for planned releases
Reporting needs:
  • Weekly:
    • Update the Materials Inventory Management Tool and distribute reporting to the Business Unit
  • Monthly:
    • Prepare Inventory Aging Analysis reports, segmented in six-month increments

Education/Experience:

A bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field is required, along with a minimum of five years of experience in supply chain operations or inventory planning, though equivalent combinations of education and experience may also be considered.
