About This Role
As a BIM Specialist, you will be a key contributor to our project team, driving the precision and organization of BIM models and documentation for residential projects. You will take ownership of crucial BIM functions, including using tools like Revit and Autodesk Construction Cloud to manage and coordinate models, prepare comprehensive design documentation, and ensure alignment with project schedules, MN standard work, and brand expectations. You will work closely with both internal and external teams, such as vendors, contractors and other third parties to deliver high-quality models and documentation. In our growing environment, you will handle multiple project milestones while continually developing your skills for future advancement.
 
On a Given Day, Your Work Might Include
  • Designs high-quality detailed BIM family content, schedules, and other related materials to meet standards of architectural and interior design team.
  • Collaborates with Project Architects and the Interior Design team in the development and maintenance of prototype models.
  • Translates property survey into a 3D prototype, ensuring accuracy in measurements and details.
  • Conducts quality assurance of the completed 3D model before submission, verifying alignment with project specifications and industry standards.
  • Partners with structural consultants and other external teams to problem solve any conflicts with design elements.
  • Prepares and reviews BIM documentation and reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with MN design standards.
  • Ensures adherence to BIM modeling and documentation quality and standards.
  • Stays informed and up to date on current best practices and advancing technologies for the modeling, documentation, and construction of single-family homes.
  • Identifies opportunities and drives continuous improvement related to BIM.
  • Partners cross functionally on projects and initiatives across multiple MN departments.
  • Embodies and reinforces actions and behaviors consistent with the Company's values, mission, and culture.
  • Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned
What You’ll Need to Succeed 
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 2+ years’ experience in a BIM related role.
  • 2+ years’ experience with wood-frame residential architecture preferred.
  • Autodesk Certified Professional preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency level using Autodesk Revit
  • Excellent interpersonal, as well as verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills. Must be able to effectively multitask and prioritize simultaneous demands while remaining flexible and efficient in a fast-paced environment.
  • Continuous improvement mindset and the ability to incorporate changes and improvements to products, processes and standard work.
  • Strong ability to use Autodesk Construction Cloud, BIM and cloud-based coordination with internal and external teams.
  • Strong ability to set up linked models and coordinate models across disciplines.
  • Proficient using Revit coordinates for site setup based on survey data.
  • Ability to understand single-family residential architecture.
  • Ability to train project teams on BIM needs and protocols specific to the office, and their project.
  • Ability to work independently with little direction or oversight.
  • Knowledge of building codes, standards, building construction, and building structures.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Bluebeam Revu, Rendering software, other BIM software.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
    Physical Requirements 
    • This position requires frequent use of a computer, including keyboard functions and visual acuity of 20 inches or fewer on a daily basis.
    • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on the computer.

    Hours & Compensation  
    This is a full-time position paying $76,599-$107,000. The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary range for this position. Individual placement within a salary range will vary based upon factors including but not limited to candidate experience, knowledge, individual, skills, and organizational performance.
