About This Role
The Senior Procurement Manager leads procurement operations to optimize total cost and supplier performance. This role is responsible for delivering sourcing strategies, leading complex negotiations, and partnering cross-functionally with Finance, Interior Design, Architecture, and Construction to align Procurement activities with business objectives. The Senior Procurement Manager drives data-driven sourcing decisions, cost modeling, and supplier performance management while ensuring Procurement process support operational efficiency and long-term value creation.
On a Given Day, Your Work Might Include
- Participates in all employee lifecycle activities including but not limited to: hiring, onboarding, training, mentoring, conducting weekly 1-on-1’s, performing regular performance reviews, disciplinary actions and offboarding.
- Responsible for development, implementation, and completion of strategic goals to support executive leadership objectives. Owns the overall team performance, mentorship, and long-term development of the team. Translates high-level strategic initiatives and priorities into actionable objectives for members and delegates effectively.
- Provides guidance on the supplier selection process through management of formal RFP, RFQ, and RFI processes. Oversees supplier contract negotiations to ensure cost competitiveness and risk mitigation.
- Drives annual operating plans, quarterly and monthly forecasts, provides ongoing analysis of actuals versus plan and/or forecast as well as the underlying models and assumptions.
- Partners with Finance to support budget planning, forecasting, and cost improvement initiatives.
- Establishes strategic supplier partnerships and drive performance management programs. Lead supplier development initiatives and performance improvement plans when necessary.
- Supports operational expansion through early supplier engagement.
- Leads Procurement participation in cross-functional process improvements and Kaizen initiatives.
- Generates and presents reports on lagging and leading department indicators related to individual and team productivity, efficiency, engagement, and morale.
- Partners with and builds strong relationships with team members across the organization at all levels; supports cross-functionally with problem solving and analysis for department leaders to effectively run their functions and promote the goals of the organization.
- Develops and maintains procurement SOPs, sourcing frameworks, and negotiation playbooks.
- Identifies opportunities to automate procurement workflows and serve as procurement functional lead for ERP implementations and system enhancements.
- Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
- Excellent management and supervisory skills.
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of procurement concepts, processes and practices, as well as supply chain management.
- Knowledge of building construction systems means and methods, materials, and industry standards a plus.
- Expert understanding of supply chain management, contracts, regulations, and technical specifications.
- Ability to review and accurately interpret engineering, architectural and other construction drawings a plus.
- Comfort with conflict and enforcing rules and standards.
- Strong service-oriented attitude and customer focus.
- Strong presentation and public speaking skills. Comfortable with presenting and communicating complex or technical information to executives and board members.
- Intellectual curiosity and complete professional ownership.
- Strong interpersonal, relationship building, and verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to effectively (re)prioritize tasks based on competing urgencies or needs.
- Adept at integrating disparate information, correlating data, and understanding data trends.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
- Proficiency or comfort with ERP systems.
What You Bring to MN Custom Homes
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in Business, Finance, Data Analytics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- 8+ years of supply chain & procurement experience with a proven track record of exceptional results.
- 3+ years managing, inspiring and developing a team of procurement professionals.
- A strong track record of end-to-end ownership and driving results, demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize work.
Working Environment & Physical Requirements
- This position requires frequent use of a computer, including keyboard functions and visual acuity of 20 inches or fewer daily.
- Frequent sitting (up to 8 hours a day in total). Occasional standing and walking
- Be able to lift up to 20 pounds on occasion with or without accommodation.
- Must be able to work in office Monday – Friday, within core business hours of 8AM-5PM
Travel & Vehicle Requirements
- Some travel between job sites within a 5-mile radius of Bellevue and Kirkland is required

Hours & Compensation
This is a full-time position paying $115,500 - $214,500. The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary range for this position. Individual placement within a salary range will vary based upon factors including but not limited to candidate experience, knowledge, individual, skills, and organizational performance.
