Role Summary 
Reporting to the Director, Content & Digital Services, the Content Specialist, Multimedia is an innovative thinker with superior creative skills and a passion for visual storytelling. They are comfortable with video strategy and execution in a fast-paced and highly collaborative environment. This position is responsible for driving the organization’s visual content efforts (80% video, 20% photography), from ideation to planning, development, and execution across owned, earned, and shared media channels. 
The ideal candidate is an exceptional communicator, planner, and strong collaborator who embraces MedVet’s values of teamwork, leadership, and compassion. They have a knack for relationship building, learning orientation, and a deep knowledge of digital, web, and social media platforms. 
 Location:  Remote working with ability to travel to MedVet locations.
 
Responsibilities 
  • Serves as the organization’s visual storyteller by curating and developing compelling video concepts aimed at engaging MedVet’s audiences and other key stakeholders; will lead each stage of video production from concept to final cut (storyboarding, producing, capturing footage, editing, color correcting, motion graphics, sound, etc.)
    • While the role emphasizes video (80%), the role will also support photography related needs (20%), including but not limited to fulfilling headshot requests for MedVet caregivers, caregiver pet photos, and sourcing/editing images for blog posts
  • Develops and manages video production calendar, ensuring alignment with overarching editorial calendar and key editorial themes/topics to reach and resonate with core audiences across multiple platforms
  • Stays on top of emerging, visual storytelling trends to help fuel creative initiatives and fosters a test and learn approach
  • Ensures accuracy, quality, consistency, and on-brand messaging across all video assets
  • Sources and partners with external creative vendors; creates clear and concise SOWs, holds external partners accountable for budgets, schedules, and deliverables
    • Collaborates with appropriate influencers and content creators on key brand storytelling initiatives
  • Serves as a key partner to Social Media Specialist in developing monthly content calendars to ensure a healthy mix of visual storytelling content and platform specific assets; will also serve as a back-up to Social Media Specialist on occasion
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities    
 
The ideal candidate has a minimum of three years of experience leading multimedia (photo and video) production from ideation to execution. Bachelor's Degree in Photography, Film/Video, Design, or similar media driven majors preferred. Experience in veterinary or human healthcare preferred but not required. 
In addition, this position requires: 
  • Proven ability to be self-sufficient in developing, producing, and editing photo and video content that supports organization objectives; deep understanding of the creative and logistical content production process, from conceptualization to production and post-production
  • A highly innovative and creative personality who is comfortable spearheading video and photo initiatives that thoughtfully captures MedVet’s expert, compassionate care
  • Exceptional project management skills to see projects through from ideation to execution; track record of managing and optimizing creative processes in a high-growth and fast-paced environment (includes tagging, organizing, and cataloging content to ensure accessibility across teams)
  • A digital native who is skilled at shooting social-first content via iPhone and DSLR equipment; high comfort level being behind the lens
  • Hands-on experience in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Premiere, After Effects), or other relevant photo and video editing software
  • Proficiency in editing photos and videos for various social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, LinkedIn, Pinterest)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite; knowledge of Canva, Sprinklr, and/or similar tools a plus
  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate daily with internal and external stakeholders in a manner that aligns with the organization’s core values of teamwork, leadership, and compassion
  • Willingness and ability to travel ~25% of the time to curate visual content across the organization
  • A robust portfolio showcasing a diverse photo and video skill set
  • Nice to have: Drone pilot certification/license
