The Head of Total Rewards is responsible for leading the design, implementation and ongoing evaluation of the effectiveness of LegalZoom’s global rewards programs including base salary, incentive compensation and benefits. Partners with senior leadership to ensure that rewards program design, communication and administration supports LegalZoom’s short-term and long-term business objectives. Manages, coach and develops a team of rewards professionals to meet the business strategy needs.

You will

  • Evaluates the effectiveness of rewards programs through benchmarking, quantitative, and qualitative methods
  • Understand workforce segments and develop reward strategies that attract and retain talent in a remote first environment
  • Works with senior leadership to develop compensation and benefit strategies to support the short-term and long-term needs of the business.
  • Design and implement broad-based, equity and executive compensation programs
  • Accountable for materials provided to the Compensation Committee of the Board of Directors
  • Design and deliver a methodology for annual compensation decision processes that appropriately reinforce a performance-driven culture
  • Partner with business partners, talent management, talent acquisition and other HR areas to ensure that rewards programs are aligned across HR
  • Direct, mentor and coach the rewards staff

You have

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 5+ years of compensation/benefit leadership experience
  • Ability to present clearly and concisely
  • Strategic orientation
  • Knowledge and of compensation administration and design
  • Experience administering focal review or year-end process
  • Analytical skills and detail orientation
  • Experience designing and executing large scale program changes


For onsite roles or roles that require periodic onsite visits, LegalZoom requires all employees to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 before starting work, unless precluded from doing so by applicable law. The CDC currently defines “fully vaccinated” as two weeks after the second dose for Pfizer and Moderna, and two weeks after the single dose of Johnson & Johnson.
