A little about the position:
Job Summary
The Shipping Manager oversees all outbound logistics to ensure fiberglass pool products are shipped safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with federal, state, and company requirements. This role manages CDL and non‑CDL drivers, coordinates delivery schedules, ensures proper load securement in accordance with SOPs, and oversees regulatory compliance, including DOT requirements and oversized‑load permitting. The Shipping Manager also ensures proper maintenance of the shipping fleet and maintains strong communication with internal teams, customers, and external transport partners.
Some of What You Will Do:
Logistics & Scheduling
- Develop and distribute delivery schedules for dealers, production teams, order entry, and internal stakeholders.
- Coordinate routing and dispatching for CDL drivers, pilot/escort drivers, and non‑CDL delivery personnel.
- Schedule third‑party transportation providers when internal capacity is unavailable.
- Ensure all deliveries follow Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, company SOPs, and state‑specific oversized‑load requirements.
Driver & Team Management
- Interview, hire and manage CDL and pilot/escort drivers.
- Manage driver scheduling, timekeeping, performance, and compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Review driver logbooks, trip sheets, and hours‑of‑service documentation for accuracy and compliance.
- Conduct routine performance reviews and reinforce safe driving practices and customer‑service expectations.
ERP System
- Shipment id created in an on time manner
- Work with AR to resolve orders in blocked status
- Confirmation of delivery date to Dealer base
- Uploading of Documents into System for compliance regulations.
Compliance & Documentation
- Obtain and manage oversized‑load permits across multiple states.
- Ensure all required tags, registrations, insurance documentation, and licenses remain current.
- Maintain accurate transportation records, driver files, inspection logs, and compliance reports.
- Monitor GPS and telematics systems to verify truck communication, routing accuracy, and equipment performance.
Fleet & Equipment Management
- Schedule routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs for all company trucks, trailers, escort vehicles, and loading equipment.
- Partner with Maintenance teams or external vendors to minimize downtime and extend fleet life.
- Ensure proper load securement processes are followed to protect product quality and meet DOT and internal safety standards.
Customer & Dealer Support
- Serve as a central point of contact for transportation‑related questions from dealers, sales, and internal departments.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve shipping processes, load planning, driver productivity, and overall logistics efficiency.
- Develop SOP updates and recommend workflow changes that improve safety, quality, and on‑time delivery metrics.
- Support cross‑functional coordination with Production, Order Entry, Sales, and Supply Chain to ensure accurate planning and execution.
Other Duties
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned to support operational needs or organizational goals.
What You Bring to the Table: (Qualifications)
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.(Associate’s degree may be considered with equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in logistics, transportation, or shipping management.
- Prior experience managing DOT‑regulated transportation, including oversized loads, strongly preferred.
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations, oversized‑load transport requirements, and safe loading practices.
- Demonstrated ability to lead diverse teams of CDL and non‑CDL drivers.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present information to drivers, plant leadership, and other departments.
- Ability to multi-task prioritize workload, meet deadlines, and manage fast-paced shipping operations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, ability to learn transportation-related software such as Thor.

Salary Range: $80,000 to $85,000/year
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across US geographic markets. Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, knowledge, skills, education, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
