Hiring Range: $22.67 – $27.78 Per Hour

Kitsap Mental Health Services (KMHS) is hiring a General Maintenance Worker to support the upkeep and safety of our facilities, vehicles, and equipment. In this role, you will perform repairs, preventive maintenance, and inspections to ensure buildings and grounds remain safe, functional, and presentable at all times. This position plays a key part in maintaining KMHS operations in support of our mission and ensuring a high level of customer service to staff, clients, and visitors.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Perform building maintenance and repairs, including painting, plumbing, carpentry, masonry, sheetrock, roofing, glazing, locks, landscaping, and minor electrical work.
- Troubleshoot and repair commercial and residential equipment and building systems.
- Complete routine and scheduled preventive maintenance on facilities and equipment.
- Maintain facility logs and records, including fire logs and other compliance documentation as required by state, county, or local authorities.
- Perform vehicle maintenance, including safety inspections, routine service scheduling, and ensuring vehicles remain clean and operational.
- Identify, order, and maintain supplies, replacement parts, and tools needed for repairs and servicing.
- Follow all safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), safe handling of chemicals, and adherence to labeling, mixing, and regulatory requirements.
- Provide 24-hour on-call support as scheduled.
- Assist with custodial tasks when assigned, including hard floor and carpet care.
- Promptly report facility or equipment damage, suspicious activity, security risks, or safety hazards to the Facilities Supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications:
EXPERIENCE:
Intermediate (minimum of 2 years of job-related experience)
Two years of commercial building maintenance experience
This position requires driving in a personal vehicle on behalf of the agency; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a motor vehicle history check, possess and maintain a current, valid driver's license in the state of Washington, and have reliable, insured transportation.
Preferred Qualifications:
EXPERIENCE: Intermediate (minimum 3 years of job-related experience)
Experience in HVAC, mechanical, electrical, carpentry.

- Must be able to work independently and display good organizational skills.
ABILITIES:
Demonstrated ability to:
- Understand safety data sheets and safe chemical handling practices.
Equipment Operated: Standard office equipment including computers, fax machines, copiers, printers, telephones, etc. Maintenance and construction equipment including ATV, backhoe, snowplow, and man lift.
Work Environment: Frequent mobility and/or sitting required for extended periods.

Requires:
- The ability to function indoors in an office environment and outdoors engaged in physically active work.
- Ambulatory ability to move to different work locations and bend, stoop, climb, and perform inspections.
- The ability to wear various protective equipment, work in areas with extreme temperature variation, and work in cramped or uneven spaces.
- Visual acuity to observe work sites, read written materials, blueprints, plans, and schematics.
- Auditory ability to carry on conversations in person and over the phone, including projecting voice in noisy work settings.
- May require the ability to lift from the floor, waist, or overhead objects up to 75 pounds occasionally.
- Proficient with electronic devices such as; handheld smart phones and computers
