We are seeking a Full time Mental Health Clinician for our Equine Therapy Program, Trot On, to provide outpatient therapy to adolescents and transitional age youth (12-24) who are struggling at home, in school and/or in the community due to substance use
disorders or at-risk behavior.  This position will begin as a "hybrid" position to include providing outpatient therapy in a traditional office setting.  As the role develops, more hours will be available to provide equine therapy.

You will be working with horses to support youth and young adults (12-24) who are at-risk for or struggling with substance use disorders and co-occurring disorders. The role of the equine therapist will be to provide individual and family therapy to youth and transitional age youth (TAY), following A-CRA (Adolescent Community Reinforcement Approach) while integrating trauma-informed equine therapy principles. Training in ACRA will be available to you! You will get the opportunity to provide treatment in a holistic farm environment with some wonderful horse co-therapists. You will support youth and TAY in developing emotion regulation strategies and in building relational connections, in order to support their sobriety.

You will be responsible for providing equine therapy to individuals and their families, providing case management services, completing assessments, developing individualized action plans, and completing all documentation as required by policy and procedure. Your schedule is flexible depending on your availability and that of the client/family.

Job Description:
You will be responsible for providing individual and family therapy and case
management services to youth and transitional age youth and their families, utilizing trauma informed equine therapy and A-CRA principles. This position requires extensive horsemanship skills, an ability to foster the horse-human connection, and experience providing therapy informed by ARC (Attachment, Regulation, & Competency) framework, CBT, DBT, Solution Focused Therapy, relational therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and SMART (sensory motor arousal regulation treatment). Training in ARC and SMART available through JRI. Clinical supervision will be provided by Trot On Program Director who maintains LICSW and PATH Intl. CTRI.

What we are looking for:
• Master’s level clinician
• Licensure (LCSW, LICSW, LMHC, LMFT) preferred
• Certified by the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship
International required (CTRI or ESMHL)
• Experience working with teens or transitional age youth preferred
• Experience working with clients who are at risk for or experience substance use disorders preferred
• Trained in or willingness to become trained in A-CRA (Adolescent Community Reinforcement Approach)
• Experience providing trauma informed care
• Must be over 21 years of age
• Knowledgeable in growth and development; understanding of the range of interventions and treatment required by this population.
• Must also have an acceptable CORI (Criminal Offender Record Information), national background check, and appropriate driving record.
• Maintains valid driver’s license. Access to a working, registered, insured vehicle. Available to work evenings, holidays, weekend shifts as necessary.
