Los Angeles based, Internet Brands, Inc. is currently seeking a Head of SEO for its ApartmentRatings team. This business features a mix of most types of content, including a directory of apartment complexes, reviews, user Q&A, and articles written by an in-house team. It’s a competitive landscape where the directory content is often also available on rival sites.
As a Head of SEO at Internet Brands, you will work with a team of SEO leaders across the vertical to drive traffic growth, define best practices, and monitor adherence to ensure our sites are properly optimized for search engine success.
We are looking for someone who is accomplished in the SEO landscape, conceives of tests to conduct, makes recommendations based on the analysis of the outcome, and can work with product, business, and tech teams to find creative ways to balance user needs, technological capabilities, and business goals.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with business leaders to drive the right traffic which increases revenue.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive SEO strategy with both technical and non-technical opportunities which grow our organic traffic.
- Prioritize SEO projects within the overall vertical roadmap.
- Leverage the value of directory content, user reviews, and author sourced content and make recommendations which help reach more visitors.
- Collaborate with internal teams to recommend and implement SEO improvements to a wide variety of sites.
- Evaluate SEO tools which can be used to further vertical's traffic goals.
- Recruit and retain high-value team members within vertical's SEO group.
- Thorough understanding of SEO (from code to content), how it interacts with UX, and how they both can affect site performance.
- Offer expert insight on trends and advancements in technology, SEO, UI/UX, Google algorithm updates, etc.
- Ability to manage several projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Adept at researching, designing, and analyzing results of SEO A/B tests.
- Review existing analytics to make informed data-driven recommendations for SEO improvements.
The ideal candidate will be:
- Bachelors degree in a technical field or marketing, MBA is a plus
- 5+ years experience leading SEO teams and strategy at a leading company
- A strong analytical and quantitative mind, with demonstrated results in SEO.
- A great communicator, boiling complex concepts down into clear, actionable instructions.
- A true collaborator, working with multiple stakeholders across teams to educate, influence, and execute.
- Willingness to dive in and research a problem from multiple points-of-view, provide supported conclusions, and lay out a clear go forward game plan.
