IGN is looking for a Creative Strategy Lead to oversee a team that is responsible for generating ideas that connect brands to IGN’s audience through world class marketing campaigns. The Creative Strategy Lead manages the RFP pipeline and works cross-departmentally to communicate advertisers’ campaign goals and KPIs to deliver innovative campaign solutions. This involves brainstorming with the wider creative, content, and product teams to create custom ideas that are packaged into a cohesive proposal at various spend levels, which can then be pitched and easily understood by the sales teams and clients.

The Creative Strategy Lead sits within IGN’s Global Creative Solutions team which spans LA, New York, San Francisco, London, and Sydney. The team is responsible for conceptualizing and delivering custom campaigns for IGN’s advertisers: these can include any combination of bespoke ad design, branded content, content sponsorship, digital and offline events, and product launches that run across multiple platforms, including, YouTube, Twitter, Snapchat, Instagram, TikTok, OTT, and Facebook.

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing the RFP & proactive pitch process to ensure IGN delivers high quality, relevant responses that pull ideas into one cohesive campaign
  • Leading and delivering RFP responses, which includes ensuring that what we are proposing is packaged and priced correctly
  • Lead cross-departmental collaboration that ensures anything included in a pitch can be delivered, and falls within budget guidelines
  • Manage and prioritize the pitch pipeline to make sure we’re allocating time and resource appropriately
  • Support the wider team in crafting a cohesive narrative for the campaigns we are working on 
  • Mentor and manage a team of strategy managers and coordinators with a focus on personal and professional development
  • Ensure the copy we are using is concise, exciting, and deck-ready
  • Where needed, interface directly with clients during the RFP process, including joining sales in client meetings where needed 
  • Work with the leadership team to ensure our processes are appropriate for the volume and type of work we are receiving, and make recommendations for optimization where and when needed 
  • Professionally develop those that report into you and expose them to as much of the business as possible
  • Ensure timely delivery of agreed internal reporting deliverables 
  • Foster a team culture of collaboration and trust - champion a global ethos

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

  • Experience responding to client briefs, ideally in a media publishing organization or advertising/media/creative agency
  • Passion for IGN, its content and its subject matter
  • Experience in writing concise, exciting sales copy
  • Ability to distill big ideas into simple, easy to understand descriptions
  • Experience working cross-departmentally 
  • Experience working in and around content marketing
  • Experience managing small to medium sized teams
  • Experience in packaging and pricing ideas and campaigns
