The Opportunity

The Sr. Sales Director  is responsible for generating revenue by overseeing a sales team that sells full 360 media campaigns inclusive of: 

        Digital media 

        Sponsorships 

        Cross platform solutions 

        Branded content 

        Social first programs 

        Influencer programs 

        Events/Experiential   

        Commerce 

The ideal candidate has a proven track record of achieving annual and quarterly revenue targets, experience managing and training a sales team, and the ability to collaborate cross departmentally.   Strong client and agency relationships across key consumer accounts (QSRs, Tech, Auto, CPG, Govt, etc.) is a must.   This position is based in New York and reports directly to the SVP, Sales & Integrated Marketing. 

  

Key Responsibilities 

        Responsible for tracking sales pipeline (including booked revenue) and driving strategy for lead generation, prospecting, and breaking into new accounts. 

        Experience cultivating new and strengthening existing agency and client direct relationships at all levels: Senior to Mid-Tier- to create awareness and demand for IGN offerings in the marketplace. 

        Develop, mentor, and lead direct reports and support each seller’s pipeline and in-market activity 

        Work with sellers to hit and exceed quotas; providing feedback and mentorship to increase sellthrough of IGN programs and sponsorships 

        Help author and build marketing collateral to uniquely position IGN and help sell through custom ideas and large scale programs 

        Review and provide feedback on RFP ideas, proposal submissions, and accompanying collateral, ensuring that business proposals have a strong chance for consideration and ultimately closing. 

        Creative and consultative sales approach when working with clients and agency partners to deliver innovative solutions that produce measurable results 

        Communicate what is needed to generate/grow revenue and work closely with Sales VP and SVP, Sales and cross departmentally to develop solutions 

        Collaborate with other departments across the organization such as Creative Strategy, Sponsorships & Partnerships, Revenue Operations, Content, and more to support the sales teams’ needs to drive business results. 

        Ability to excel in a fast paced, dynamic work environment and maintain a positive attitude in stressful situations, as it relates to challenges, deadlines, and financial pressure.  

        Experience working with brands like: Coca Cola, Pizza Hut, Mondelez, Nestle, Pepsi, FritoLay, ABInbev, Diageo, Microsoft, Dell, Intel, T-Mobile, Samsung, Fidelity, Ally and more. 

        Travel as needed;  attend sales calls and provide feedback to develop Sales Managers and Account Executives’ growth. 

Job Qualifications

        6+ years of sales experience; with a minimum of 3+ years of sales management experience. 

        Track record of successfully leading sales professionals. 

        Strong leadership skills  

        Excellent presentation and negotiation skills 

        Organized, creative, and results driven 

        Category specific client and agency relationships 

        Knowledge of the gaming and entertainment industry is a plus 

        Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience

*Note: Disclosure as required by NYCHRL, the base salary range for this role when being performed in the City of New York is $120,000-$150,000.  Compensation for this business unit specific role is based on a variety of factors including experience, scope of the role, capabilities to perform the role, as well as business & company performance.
