Hearth & Home Technologies is looking for an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist to join our Fireplaces Business Unit in Lake City, MN. This position reports on-site to the site EHS Manager.

Role & Responsibilities 
 
  • Influence safety culture through strong relationships to support daily deployment of the company’s safety philosophy, culture, and standards
  • Develop, support, and deliver safety related training and tools for all relevant EHS initiatives and regulatory requirements, monitor training compliance and drive desired results
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret safety data including incidents, near misses, and observations to identify trends and recommend improvement opportunities
  • Lead process reviews, make recommendations, and complete tasks for improvements related to potential hazards
  • Ability to lead safety incident investigations and hazard assessments
  • Conduct EHS assessments of facilities and operations, make recommendations, and assist with developing action plans
  • Manage workcomp partnership and administration of claims
  • Oversee safety software systems that support injury incident case management
  • Collaborate with other company location teams to promote and strengthen implementation of safety best practices
Experience & Qualifications
 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a manufacturing, distribution, or industrial environment
  • OSHA 10 or 30-hour certification preferred
  • Working toward professional certification such as ASP (Associate Safety Professional) is a plus
