Environmental Health & Safety Specialist
Description
- Influence safety culture through strong relationships to support daily deployment of the company’s safety philosophy, culture, and standards
- Develop, support, and deliver safety related training and tools for all relevant EHS initiatives and regulatory requirements, monitor training compliance and drive desired results
- Collect, analyze, and interpret safety data including incidents, near misses, and observations to identify trends and recommend improvement opportunities
- Lead process reviews, make recommendations, and complete tasks for improvements related to potential hazards
- Ability to lead safety incident investigations and hazard assessments
- Conduct EHS assessments of facilities and operations, make recommendations, and assist with developing action plans
- Manage workcomp partnership and administration of claims
- Oversee safety software systems that support injury incident case management
- Collaborate with other company location teams to promote and strengthen implementation of safety best practices
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a manufacturing, distribution, or industrial environment
- OSHA 10 or 30-hour certification preferred
- Working toward professional certification such as ASP (Associate Safety Professional) is a plus
