Position Overview:
This entry-level internship provides hands-on experience in business development, proposal coordination, and marketing support within a government contracting environment. The Business Development Intern will assist with tracking and developing proposals, ensuring compliance with solicitation requirements, and supporting the overall proposal lifecycle from initial opportunity identification through submission. This role also contributes to broader business development and marketing initiatives as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Proposal Management & Coordination
  • Support proposal tracking and development alongside capture managers from initial pursuit through award.
  • Assist in organizing and managing the proposal development process, including reviewing and analyzing Requests for Proposals (RFPS).
  • Help ensure proposal schedules and deadlines are met.
  • Draft and edit standard proposal sections, ensuring clarity, consistency, and compliance.
  • Assist in ensuring proposals align with RFP requirements and applicable federal regulations.
  • Content Development & Data Management
  • Support the development of project descriptions, employee resumes, and past performance materials.
  • Gather and organize project photos and relevant documentation.
  • Maintain and update internal databases for project experience and staff qualifications.
  • Business Development Support 
  • Assist in responding to Requests for Qualifications (RFQs) and other business opportunities.
  • Provide general support for marketing and business development initiatives, as needed.
Qualifications, Skills, and Educational Requirements:
  • Currently pursuing, or recently completed, an undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Interest in government contracting, particularly in construction, architecture & engineering, or environmental services, is preferred but not required.
  • Basic understanding or interest in government or military contracting processes is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to collaborate with diverse teams.
