OVERVIEW:
The Senior Talent Development Specialist plays a key role in developing First Business Bank’s workforce and supporting employees across the company in their onboarding, training, and development needs. By leading the onboarding process, this highly organized function serves as the entry point for setting new employees up for success. In collaboration with and under the direction of Director of Talent Management, this individual provides coaching and support to managers and contributes to other companywide strategic initiatives. 
 
LOCATION: Madison, WI with the flexibility of 2 days per week remote.
 
Primary responsibilities to include:
  • Effective leadership of the First Business Bank New Hire Orientation and Onboarding Experience.  Collaborate with managers to manage all aspects of new hire onboarding to provide an exceptional new hire experience and accelerate the time to performance for new hires.  Components include pre-boarding communication, evolving and leading New Hire Orientation, partnering with IT to create a clear plan and effective experience for each new hire, 1:1 coaching with managers to prepare a personalized plan for each new hire’s 1st year of employment, following up with new hires after their start date to ensure they are equipped with access to the tools, resources, and people to help them succeed, and managing the 30/60/90 Day Review processes.  
  • Manage initiatives within Employee Relations. Acts as an HR point person to support managers and employees with questions and credible concerns or complaints.  Investigate and respond in a timely manner and report trends and recommendations to the HR team. Handles Performance Management issues and leads appropriate performance documentation discussions with managers and employees.  Manages the full exit interview process and addresses feedback and trends.    
  • Promote a culture of continuous learning and feedback for employees to enhance organizational performance.  Collaborate with the Director of Talent Development and business leaders to regularly, and proactively, assess evolving needs and actively identify opportunities to develop and deliver learning solutions for employees.
  • Manage the Company Talent Management System.  Continually leverage system capabilities to match company needs.  Identify opportunities to implement functionality and deliver quality solutions including system configurations, process set-up, communication and end-user deliverables and training.  Support coordination and delivery of talent management processes and results within the system. 
  • Manage the Company PEER (mentorship) program.  Identify and assign all new employees with a PEER, provide resources and support for the participants of the program, and proactively ensure the program is engaging and successful.
QUALIFICATIONS: 
  • Completed post-secondary degree
    • Areas of study could include HR, Organizational behavior and development, Psychology
  • 3+ years of work experience in a related role within a professional services industry
  • Performance Management coaching and documentation and proven ability to coach leaders
  • Experience creating, organizing, and facilitating training and development content
  • Previous experience in new employee onboarding
  • Strong technology skills and ability to pick up on new systems and applications quickly; in specific, experience with Talent Development, Performance Management, Learning Management systems strongly preferred.
  • Basic knowledge over overall Human Resources functions
  • Demonstrated success in being resourceful and a proven problem solver
