As part of the Gas Power One Field Services team, FieldCore installs, maintains and upgrades power generation equipment, enabling operators of the world’s energy infrastructure to provide more reliable and affordable energy.
Job Summary
The Technical Competency Manager II is responsible for building technical competency maps and driving core competency program initiatives with a particular focus on field services employees. Leads global efforts for competency management and qualification programs. Owns and ensures documenting the competency maps in the global competency tool (Kahuna) and maintains the required skills that meet FieldCore and industry standards. Establishes and maintains routine communications with the resources, value stream, and training teams to ensure alignment with the competency development models that shape the training courses.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Implement and manage global field technical competency program
- Maintain final accountability for the deployment and adoption of the competency tool “Kahuna” within field services
- Work closely with the training and resources teams to build technical competency maps for required field roles and implement technical assessor development process
- Perform a gap analysis to identify competency gaps and develop process to prioritize creating/ updating competency profiles accordingly
- Collaborate with resources and training operations to provide the business with robust reports and metrics to facilitate data made decisions for resource placement, development, and training
- Maintain oversight on the global field competency related budgetary line items. Report on these expenditures to training leader and create strategy that achieves efficiency and drives cost reductions
- Work closely with the training team to ensure training courses are aligned with the competency maps to meet skills needs
- Partner with resource and training team, as well as operations teams to support the “Sales and Operations Planning” process and ensure alignment of business demand with the field teams capabilities. Ensure that trainings are based on gap analysis of competence coupled with forecast
- Support ISO 9001 compliant competency audit programs
- Review and analyze current legislative requirements, field performance results, EHS metrics, and various feedback forms to gather information on competency programs development needs
- Schedule calls to collect feedback from teams on competency and competency tool and take action to improve competency maps and tool adoption
- Provide periodic reports to senior management which depict the current qualification status of all field employees
- Support employee needs while participating in learning programs events
- Travel required

Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent
- 8+ years applicable experience in a training/learning program
- 3+ years’ experience in competency management role, preferably with international reach across multiple service types
- Industry certifications or relevant experience in Workforce Development, Training, Competency Assurance Management required
- Experience with Learning, Performance, and Competency Data Management Systems required
- English proficiency required

Compensation and Benefits:
The annual salary range for this position is $103,200 to $173,400. This is an exempt from overtime position. FieldCore benefits include insurance (medical, dental, vision, disability, and life), retirement savings, health and Wellness reimbursement, and a bonus or incentive program. Eligibility for FieldCore benefits is determined under the terms of the applicable benefits plan.
