Position Summary:

The Communications Specialist is responsible for leading EVgo’s internal and external messaging, including managing PR consultants, social media platforms, customer communications, and ensuring message coordination across the organization.


  • Work closely with the Senior Director for Marketing and Communications to develop and implement the company’s communications strategy.
  • Manage external PR agencies, holding them accountable to key performance objectives.
  • Engage directly with journalists and other media as needed.
  • Maintain a online library of PowerPoint presentations and other written materials supporting external presentations, events and media engagement.
  • Manage customer communications, including newsletter, blogs, and support customer care team.
  • Incorporate updated messaging across EVgo platforms including social media and the corporate website.
  • Lead internal corporate communications, including updating EVgo team members on recent company highlights.
  • Coordinate with other EVgo colleagues on investor relations matters.
  • Measure return on investment of EVgo corporate communications initiatives.
  • Coordinate with internal other EVgo team members to improve how the organization communicates with one another and outside stakeholders.

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or commensurate experience, major in Communications, Marketing, or Liberal Arts preferred.
  • 2-3 years minimum experience in a marketing or communications role, clean transportation or energy experience a plus.
  • Clear, precise, and compelling communications skills, both verbal and written.
  • Highly organized and able to track multiple projects at once
  • Detail-oriented, organized, deadline-driven .
  • High proficiency in all areas of Microsoft Office to include Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Exceptional team player who can flourish working in a collegial environment as well as being a self-motivated individual contributor.
  • Intellectually curious, desire and ability to learn new content and concepts and be able to think creatively.
  • Must possess strong planning, interpersonal, decision making, problem solving skills.
