Portfolio Controls Associate
Description
The Portfolio Controls Associate is responsible for analyzing cost and schedule data for a large volume of fast-paced EV charging infrastructure projects.
Acting as a conduit between internal cross-functional teams including but not limited to Development Engineering, Utility Integration, Project Deployment, and Site Development the Portfolio Controls Associate will track, analyze, and report on project performance including costs, schedule, and resources.
The successful candidate will have prior knowledge working with project schedules on infrastructure projects and will have demonstrated experience for analyzing large amounts of data from ERPs, have excellent attention to detail, and be a self-starter, problem-solver, and team player.
The position is remote and will serve within the Operational Excellence function for sites across the United States
- Develop and implement system controls to ensure accurate, reliable, and transparent cost actuals and forecasts within project management tools.
- Partner with cross-functional teams—including Development Engineering, Construction, Grid Integration, Supply Chain, and Field Ops—to support accurate budgeting and forecast alignment across all project phases.
- Write and maintain clear, practical SOPs for budgeting, cost tracking, and forecasting processes that support consistent workstreams across teams.
- Build and maintain dashboards and reports that provide visibility into budgeted vs. actual spend and drive actionable insights.
- Organize and manage cost data to support vendor RFPs, bidding strategies, and the development of cost targets based on historical benchmarks.
- Identify and lead process improvements that enhance cost tracking, reporting, and forecast precision across the project portfolio.
- BS/ MS in Engineering, Construction Management, or Project Management
- 3–5 years in project scheduling, project controls, or business operations, ideally within infrastructure, utilities, energy, or heavy construction.
- Proficiency in tools like Salesforce ERP management software (ideally Sitetracker, or similar). Tableau experience is a plus
- Ability to proactively identify scheduling risks and propose realistic mitigations.
- Skilled in presenting data, findings, and recommendations with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Working with a large amount of data to derive operational insights and planning.
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Utility, Renewables (commercial solar, energy storage) experience.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Taking initiative, working independently, and launching projects without direct supervision
- Success influencing stakeholders in a cross-functional environment.
