About the Role:
 
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Sr Manager Cloud Observability to lead our observability initiatives across our cloud infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in process optimization and technology implementation, with a specific focus on AWS-based environments. This role requires a strategic thinker who can drive innovation and efficiency in our monitoring and observability processes.

What you will do:
 
  • Leadership & Strategy:
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive observability strategy aligned with business goals.
    • Lead and mentor a team of observability engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of observability processes.
  • Process Optimization:
    • Analyze current observability processes and identify areas for improvement.
    • Implement best practices for monitoring, logging, and tracing, ensuring high availability and performance of cloud services.
    • Establish metrics and KPIs to measure the effectiveness of observability processes.
  • Technology Implementation:
    • Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of observability solutions using AWS services.
    • Ensure the scalability, reliability, and security of observability tools and processes.
    • Stay updated with the latest AWS technologies and industry trends to continuously enhance observability processes.
  • Collaboration & Communication:
    • Work closely with development, operations, and security teams to ensure comprehensive observability coverage.
    • Communicate observability strategies, progress, and outcomes to stakeholders at all levels.
Who you are and what you bring:
 
  • Technical Expertise:
    • Extensive experience with AWS services (CloudWatch, X-Ray, CloudTrail, Lambda) and other services like Datadog, Dynatrace.
    • Proficiency in observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, or Datadog.
    • Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash).
  • Process Management:
    • Proven track record in building the team ground-up, optimizing observability processes and implementing best practices.
    • Experience with Agile methodologies and DevOps principles.
  • Leadership & Communication:
    • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Education & Experience:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
    • 7+ years of experience in cloud observability management or a related role.
    • AWS certification (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer) is a plus.
