We are seeking a Compliance Test Technician specializing in Solar Inverters, Energy Storage, and microgrid products compliance testing and certification.  

The Compliance Test Technician will ensure that products developed or managed by Enphase have been tested to agreed test plans and relevant national / international standards through helping Compliance Engineers with testing and certification efforts. This role supports Grid inter-connection testing, the Hardware Design Verification and will contribute to our business best practice of ensuring efficient, safe, and reliable systems, through regulatory compliance testing.

What you can look forward to:

  • Supports Compliance Engineers by conducting product testing using automated or manual test methods.
  • Creates test reports, Certificates, and related compliance documents.
  • Supports compliance engineering related activities such as test setup modification, fabrication, or assembly of electro‑mechanical systems.
  • Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts, or defined plans to perform testing, checkout and trouble-shooting functions. Applications may include electrical/electronic circuits, Solar inverters, Battery Energy Storage products, and logic systems.
  • Looks after equipment calibration and maintenance.
  • Maintains a safe work environment. 

What you will need to do it well:

  • Certification or Bachelor in Electronics, Computer Science or the equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Having experience with testing Electronics / Electrical products
  • Good knowledge of Electronics and Electrical Engineering principles
  • Recent experience working in an ISO 17025 accredited lab is an advantage.
  • Having experience with photovoltaic systems or power supplies is an advantage.
  • Working knowledge of Standard, National and International regulations is a plus.

About the Petaluma team

Enphase Energy has two facilities in the Bay area, this position is located in the north bay area of Petaluma.  We are a Research and Development Centre focused on the design and testing of our cornerstone products, the Microinverter, AC battery, and microgrid systems. Enphase Petaluma has a team of around 80+ engineers and support staff. We also work closely with our Research and Development colleagues in Christchurch New Zealand, Texas, and Bangalore.


Salary range: $32.21 - $43.27 per hour
