Clinical Laboratory Assistant
Description
Dynacare London is hiring for a Clinical Laboratory Assistant in our Chemistry department. This is a full time, permanent position, 37.5 hours per week, working, Monday to Friday, day shift.
Internal application must be received no later than August 8. 2023
This role includes sample preparation, sample testing, and post analytical tasks such as sample storage and disposal, and maintenance procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Ensures that all samples are properly labeled and identified before testing.
- Follows established protocol for the handling of unsuitable samples.
- Operates complex instruments following department procedures.
- Performs simple non-interpretive testing procedures under the supervision of a qualified technologist.
- Ensures all inquiries and problems are handled in a courteous and professional manner.
- Performs routine equipment maintenance following documented procedures.
- Documents all maintenance performed, including minor troubleshooting following manufacturer’s instructions.
- Ensures all quality control checks and standards are maintained
- Other duties as assigned
Must have:
- Laboratory Assistant Program or equivalent previous experience
- Graduate of an approved laboratory assistant course or equivalent
- Excellent computer skills
Nice to have:
- Knowledge of AS400 Data Entry system/LIS an asset
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
- Good organizational skills
- Ability to work independently
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team centered environment.
